Asriel: Don't be cruel to Chara! He did nothing wrong!
Chara, beheading Papyrus: Yeah, I'm adorable!
Asriel: I can't believe we made Dad sick!
Chara, kicking the basket of butter into a cabinet with his foot: Yeah, tragic.
Chara: Self-care is poisoning the drinks of an entire village before going after your real target so the bloodline is gone and you won't have to deal with some rando popping in on you years later while you're in the middle of finishing that one half-eaten sandwich in the fridge at 3 am.
People who see Frisk and Chara as boys?
People who see Frisk and Chara as girls?
People who see Frisk and Chara as Non-binary?
What really gets under my skin is how guilt-trippy everyone is about Chara's protrayal as a villain by some. Like, you can legit find fanart with Chara crying and screaming about the fandom blaming him for the genocide run. There's whole videos dedicated to make the viewer feel like an asshole if they see Chara as anything other than an angel that did nothing wrong. Even if it isn't explicitly stated, some comics featuring a sympathetic Chara have some underlining "people who choose to see me as the villain are heartless monsters" feeling to it and I can't fully enjoy the peice because the creator couldn't help but passive aggressively point fingers at anyone who interprets Chara differently. It's incredibly frustrating. You want to portray Chara as misunderstood? Cool, no problem. Go wild.
But for fuck's sake STOP trying to guilt-trip everyone who disagrees in your content! It costs zero dollars to just write Chara as a cute little kid WITHOUT shaming those who see Chara differently.
Me, seeing cool fanart of Villain Chara:
That one fucker in EVERY comment section:
"Chara Ishn't EVUUUUUULLL!!!!1!!11 STOP VILLAINIZING THEM, UR MEAN!!!1!1!1"
