I know how people like to make fun of Kaiba for his obssession with everything Blue-Eyes but everytime I think about it, it just kind of melts my heart tbh. I mean maybe if it was like your “normal” everyday obssession, just a rich guy’s fancy or whatever, it would have been more funny to me. But given what we know about why he’s so taken with that dragon, for me that makes it something quite amazing.

Like can you imagine loving someone so much, that love follows you 3000 years later into a completely different life and, to an extend, personality? Loving them so much you spend your entire life feeling this undescribale connection to what is by all means, a holographic projection of a card drawn by some guy you dont even like (at least after Duelist Kingdom)? Loving them so much that when they send you a vision you actually listen even though you try so hard to deny magic is real and not believe in it at any other time? Loving them so much that not only is their dragon your favourite card but you go out of your way to put actual statues of it anywhere you possibly can and other Blue-Eyes-shaped objects? Like he didnt have to go that far. Look at Yugi/Atem - they also share a special connection with the Dark Magician but we dont see them putting his face on everything they can get away with and owning all kinds of Dark Magician items, and things like that. But Seto’s feelings are so intense and strong, so overfloowing, he’s expressing them by having his dragon all around him in every way he can. And to me that’s just really… amazing.
