gorgon-andie:
“Oh man, my Elton John is off the charts and I even have some glasses I could put on to really get us into the vibe” she beamed. The goths own expression immediately changed and her eyebrows knitted together as the woman began to explain how things had been. The fact that Lysandra had been separated from her made Andie angry with Sabine in a way. That Sabine had been so careless of anothers emotions, that she was a different woman to the loving mother she knew. Andie watched Lysandra as she tried to carry on with the fort activity like nothing was wrong “Mom, you know just for the record. I thought that what she did to you was the most shitty thing I’ve ever heard and you deserved way better, to be treated with more respect.” she said sincerely, her tone deadly serious for once.

“As long as it’s all about the cloaks and diamonds and feathers, I’m all in. Never the Donald Duck suit, you can have that one.” She teased with a giggle. It honestly made the older gorgon very nervous, breaching this subject with Andie. Especially before she had the chance to talk about how they would handle it with Sabine. In most ways, it was hard to reconcile herself with the fact that she was the odd one out of the trio, no matter how graciously her daughter had accepted her without batting an eyelash. And she could see how Sabine was trying so hard to make up for lost time and missteps. It was just... painful. Everything was a reminder of how much she had missed, of how many things she didn’t know. Lys stilled, the cushion almost falling from her hands at Andie’s words. She reached out to cup her cheek, “My love, I appreciate that but you must know it wasn’t entirely her fault. I was just as stubborn and I closed myself off to the point where she felt she had no choice but to...” She let out a shuddering breath, “It was both a blessing and a curse that you were so young and we didn’t hurt you more than we already did by separating like that. We should have known better, so much better.” She whispered softly, stroking the little gorgon’s cheek.
