self-preservation being one of the earliest skills the camp will teach a young witch beginning to harness their capabilities, bowie can't help but give merit to the opposing words coming out of the convincing camper. magic was unpredictable so you could never properly gage how bad an injury could get, although there was an abundance of magical medicines, spells as well powerful people much like bowie who could damage even the worst of imaginable wounds. a simple shrug is paired with a simple smile, no concern hidden behind his eyes whatsoever. ❛ i feel like i'm doing camp wrong by some of the crazy shit that you guys get up to. ❜ not an instinctual daredevil, it's not like he's exactly seeking the more adventurous things out either. that's why he had isamu.

bowie was raised without a lot of technology, compared to most of the rest of his generation. although that doesn't mean he's entirely clear from it or that he doesn't enjoy it either. he's not going to spend much time making sure he has a perfect feed or that his instagram profile is aesthetically pleasing but he will always have his phone on hand so that he can send snapchats back and forth with his friends. or scroll tik tok for an hour or so in the evenings when he's sleepy, before a nap or when has nothing else to do.

and when it does come to his profiles, he doesn't post any sort of video content or anything similar of the sort but he will update on his paintings, or his plants. or the occasional thirst trap.

although bowie hasn't left the country, he has travelled from coast to coast. he's been to all forty-eight of the mainland states. his family never stayed in one place for longer than a year, typically setting up their trailer-home in some campground and keeping put. his parents weren't evading anything, they weren't on the run, they simply had very motivated feet that got wanderlust more than most. so bowie has lived in all sorts of climates and atmospheres, from swamps to deserts to forests, humid to dry. he prefers humidity due to the mass amount of plant life.

after his parents went missing at sixteen, bowie spent two years wandering about the west coast until he was beckoned to the camp. and while has would like to travel the world, he doesn't see that happening in any near future. and his feet can plant roots easier than his parents' ever could.

It wasn’t the first time he needed to be patched up and wouldn’t be the last. His dark eyes fell to where the “scratch” was torn across his forearm only moments before. The magical gift to heal wasn’t necessarily rare but it often replicated a normal healing factor, scars or other signs of prior injury. Cory was a little impressed not to see a scar, as if it never happened. Still, Bowie was enough of a shit without the praise.

the other's forearm sits between bowie's two palms, one of bowie's hands keeping the weight of their arm steady as the other is hovering over the other's wound. you can tell by the look on the redhead's face that he was working hard at focusing, transmitting his lifeforce into the other. with his power to heal, it wasn't uncommon for the young camper to be posted up with nursing duties for the day but that didn't mean bowie necessarily liked it or was entirely good at it either. he could heal without issue, it was the bedside manner that was completely out of practice. as the wound on his patient's arm begins to resolve and repair itself, bowie would finally look back up at the other. ❛ it's really not that bad. last week someone nearly got their arm burned off and that took like twenty whole minutes to get looking good again! ❜ he'll enthuse, dropping the arm back onto the others lap without grace. good as new.
