‘ . . . . . not this shit again. ’
scythewielding.
‘ uhh —- ‘ in all honesty, she doesn’t have an answer herself. she’d always been prone to nonsensical impulses as a child, & even now she still finds herself having to push against the intrusive impulses of wanting to do something just to see what would happen afterwards. she isn’t sure what surprises her more; the fact that this person was asking, or the fact that she’d taken ruby’s offering of the snow seriously.
ruby shakes the residual snow from her cupped hand before wiping the melted remains off on her skirt. her cheeks, while flushed by the winds which buffeted her unprotected face, began to burn just a bit brighter with her embarrassment. all at once she feels the heavy, inexplicable need to violently bash her head against the nearest tree trunk.
‘ sometimes it’s just … fun ? ‘ she shrugs halfheartedly. ‘ plus, it helps keep you hydrated if you’re in a pinch. i mean —- snow’s just frozen water, so if you get stuck out somewhere without supplies, you can at least get water from it. ‘ ruby sighs, hanging her head low. ‘ please don’t judge me for my choices in life. i wasn’t expecting to run into someone out here. ‘
ah. she was embarrassed that A2 caught her, then. so this act was but a reflex. . . she can’t help but find it endearing in a certain way. she wasn’t dehydrated, or stranded without supplies, which made everything at least a little humorous to the android. she almost smiled.
‘ fun. alright. ’ she’d eaten snow before, but not for the sake of fun. drinking water in general helps keeping her core’s levels stable. being an older model had some disadvantages. okay, many disadvantages. A2 preoccupies herself with eating the leftover snow. it was already in her hands anyway. ‘ i’m not judging. but you should always expect someone or something. this place-- ’
she’s violently interrupted by a sharp pain flourishing in the back of her head, spreading ‘till her forehead like a million needles were being pushed into it. she presses a hand to her forehead. before the great white she would never get brain freeze, even if she tried. this place really stripped her of every little pro being an android offered.
‘ ugh! god DAMMIT ! ’ how embarrassing, A2.
unwaveringpath.
The girl didn’t seem to be in the best of mood– understandable, knowing the circumstances. If anyone is in this place, it’s because they have a wish they want realised, and some may not be so keen as to care for survival in the tundra. For Primrose, it was time she used to reflect upon herself. Perhaps for others, it prompted them to action.
And maybe the tale was right, that this place could grant a wish if you felt strongly enough.
“Perhaps they are simply more nutritious than the usual fruit.” She shook her basket, making the little white orbs roll around. Then, she smiled. “I was curious about them, they may have a very pleasant taste, too.”
The girl didn’t seem hostile, which was a good thing. “Would you like a little company? It would make the gathering a little less boring, for the both of us.”
that’s more like it. faith had always been something she’s been out of touch with, and if there was a god out there, she would most likely kill them for all the misfortune of her world. here, they are very real, so that’s something for the future. there are more pressing matters as of now. like a wish. one that she wants to cultivate as soon as possible.
‘ just a tale to make the children eat up. . . ’
A2 quietly muses. no fruit can benefit this much. plus, in a place like these, wasting any type of food does seem like a crime. at the invite, she casts a glance to the woman’s basket. even though she longed for solitude, depriving her of something this simple felt just wrong. or perhaps it is just A2 who doesn’t want to be alone, after all.
‘ are you here just for these? ’
dowasure.
He closes his eyes. I know well enough. He would lose, as he always did – he was in a losing battle from the very start. If she knew that much, then she should know that was the whole point. He could hardly defend himself with a sword that he isn’t equipped to wield, no matter how many protocols he had broken. Not against her. She seemed to know his patterns well.
Perhaps it was 2B that had taught her them.
The name makes his mouth feel dry – the name implied even without her saying it. She understood nothing. 9S takes a step back, wincing again, his own memories dancing before his eyes. What good does she think will come out of explaining why? He knows why, he knows why – he’s known since he saw red on that day, hurtling towards the enemy with only one thought in mind. If it was the last thing he did, was going to –
**** 2B, wasn’t he?
No. He isn’t like that. I’m not like you. Perhaps he had been wrong in his denials that day, but today, they ring true. He is nothing like A2. To put aside his own comfort to end the life of someone he so dearly loved, for her own sake – it was too great a burden to bear. He wasn’t that kind of person. He wasn’t selfless. But perhaps that wasn’t all he was afraid of. He didn’t want to kill her. I’m not like you. He cared about her. You want to be loved by all. But if he came close, if he had to, if she asked him to – if he had no choice –
To feel what she had felt… he couldn’t bear it.
To face the chance that he would enjoy it, revenge, hatred, overlapping and merging into a grotesque amalgamation, the bitter loathing for all of the loss he cannot recall, the chances he never had, the chance that it was what he wanted all along –
You’re thinking about how much you want to kill 2B, aren’t you?
“You don’t know a thing about me. About us!” Laughing bitterly, hands trembling, he holds his head high – voice raising the more he speaks. “I’m nowhere near that good a person! It must be nice, being a 2 model! It all comes naturally. Not leaving worthless people alone no matter what, even if they hate you, even if they ruin everything – why don’t you just give up?! I’m sick of it! I’m sick of you!!”
Who was it he was screaming about? Was it A2, or someone else?
Hatred pouring into you. Reality stained by lies.
He turns away, breathing heavily. So self-centred. So self-absorbed. So worth discarding. “This is the last time I’ll say it. Go. Get your own wish.” Unless you’re going to grant mine.
her resolve is of steel. a2 doesn’t waver or flinch. she’s been through real pain, immersed in her own rage long enough to know exactly how it feels to be in the other’s shoes. she also knows that sympathy is the last thing he’d want as well. however, it is the same reasoning that drives her to stay right where she is, feet firmly planted into soft white snow, taking each word to her very core like a freshly sharpened knife. it hurts. but removed the knife would double the pain, wouldn’t it?
she knows more than he could ever guess.
. . .
. . . .
. . . . .
knowledge is terrifying.
‘ you’re right. maybe you aren’t a good person. ’ that’s what he wants to hear. he wants to be degraded. he wants to be reduced to nothing. he wants to feel like nothing. ‘ not for now. but you can be-- ’
It must be nice, being a 2 model.
A2 smiles, bitterly so. she’s sick of herself, too. but more importantly, she’s sick of him assuming things.
‘ maybe it’s you doesn’t know about anything at all. ’ about me, about all the loss i went through. ‘ . . .you think i enjoy sympathizing with you? because i want to feel SUPERIOR? out of all the yorha models, i thought a scanner like you would be able to put two and two together. ’
scythewielding.
she had taken to admiring the simple things in life as a child. namely, what nature had to offer as a comfort during the times when humanity could not console the sadness slowly building inside her chest, nesting in a pocket adjacent to her heart. what a comfort the woods had been then, & even now within the strange expanse of this wintry land ruby knew only as eidolon. despite the questions still nipping at her heels like persistent dogs, the forest held quite a homey feeling that soothed the erratic beat of her heart.
she’d gone into town recently for new winter supplies; her combat gear certainly wouldn’t keep her warm enough in this weather, & it was best to adapt before she found herself plagued by frostbite or even the common cold, should things of that nature persist in this environment. a gloved hand scoops snow from the ground as she stoops to meet it, no longer stinging cold against bare skin, & ruby simply brings the collection of snow to her mouth not knowing someone else was watching her from a distance.
ruby remains still like a deer caught in headlights, still crouched, eyes flickering from the snow in her palm to the person observing from afar. ‘ uhm … e-eating snow ? ‘ a long moment of silence follows her words, after which she hesitantly holds out her palm as if to offer the snow in her grasp to the other.
of course she was curious. those dull eyes had not expressed such sparkle in a long time, but ever since she’s arrived, every day has been a day. the android watches, almost motionless, as the girl hesitates about... every thing? perhaps A2 really walked into something here... something she wasn’t supposed to witness, and still--
eyes flicker from the hand extended to her, back to the owner. back and fourth, a couple of times actually. was she being offered some... snow? like when you try taming a wild boar or moose? A2 can feel her inner system heating up from all the mulling.
carefully, and most likely unsure, she takes the snow off of the youth’s hand. and bites into it. life. existence. everything has always been a mistake. but this? this takes the trophy.
‘ . . . but why? ’
soulrewound.
Look at the ground. You just kicked something that was buried under the snow. What could it be?! A log? A rock? Buried treasure? That pair of keys that you lost three years ago?
Aw, too bad.
It’s just a kid.
yes, she’s looking at the ground. those dulled eyes undecipherable as she wondered... why. that wasn’t the first time she’s seen a human doing something completely out of ordinary. they were breathing, therefore still alive, and they didn’t seem to be in pain either. so yes, indeed, why?
well... asking won’t hurt. she can’t just leave him there.
‘ ... are you okay? ’
dowasure.
And yet… she was clumsy. She was foolish. She believed in things she shouldn’t – in him, in YoRHa, in humanity. They all had. They had all put their faith in beings that would not listen to them, in a world that did not care. It depended if they would realise or not. It depended if they wanted to uncover the truth.
But uncovering the truth hardly ended in a solution. It hardly ended in anything more than pain.
Without meaning to, he flinches as A2 picks up the weapon. Perhaps it was the change in her voice. Perhaps it was her turning away from words. Perhaps he finally provoked her. If only. Making a fool of him, pretending she could get inside his head – guessing right, guessing right every time – it makes him tense, frustrated. Why wouldn’t he leave already?
He wanted her to leave. Somehow, that was different.
He wanted her to give up.
He wanted her to see what was so obvious to him.
He wanted her to feel the despair that he felt. He wanted her to realise there was nothing that she could do.
“I want you to leave, or I want you to fight me.” It was nothing to do with him. It was her that was the problem – she who refused to let him keep his pride, who kept acting as if there was any way out for someone like him. She who refused to fall to his level. She who was better than him, through and through. “I’m staying here. If you hate me so much… then deal with me.”
the flinching. it doesn’t go unnoticed by her - it violently drags her back to that day. grip around the spear tightening, she recalls the memories of her own demise in silence, how hesitation had been her worst enemy. perhaps she was never meant to show mercy, like her core wanted her to, but something deeper than the core kept her soft. no, it is quite simple. . .
empathy. why would a soldier meant to die be cursed graced with that?
to stand so tall and prideful when your sense of self worth simply doesn’t exist... how stubborn. how infuriating. how familiar. he must’ve seen it by now, how she doesn’t deserve to help him after what she’s done, or at the very least she hopes he does. after what he’s been put through, all the grief and anger... he deserved to be angry. their world is not a kind one.
silence. no, he’s certainly not aware of it.
‘ i don’t want to deal with you, much less fight. you know what is going to happen if we do. ’ she takes a deep breath. perhaps there was a day she did. no, she definitely did back then. all the times he would come back after she had made his signal go offline, to hunt her like an animal for the name of a cause that betrayed her beyond forgiveness. but not right now. there is no hate here, and perhaps he can see sincerity within her dull blue eyes.
‘ i don’t hate you, 9S. i don’t... resent you for what you did. but i understand if you do. what i did to you and her was unforgivable. but i had to. she was in pain. wouldn’t you have done the same thing for her? ’
A2 hoped for a day in which she would grow used to the idea of living among humans. humans... she had dreamed-- wished with every ounce of her being that one day the war would be over, and earth safe enough for their creators to return, and then, finally live among the ones she had fought for. wishful thinking at its best, for that dream would never come true regardless of the sacrifices she made along the years. that, until this place happened.
for her surprise, as the days went by, the android discovered little things here and there, and quickly realized how silly humans can be. they should be perfect, untouchable, a role model if anything. but here A2 is, watching as a human ate snow right off of the floor.
‘ . . .what the hell are you doing ? ’
@scythewielding
i...swear i’m still alive.
the flames dance high in your heart and soul…
It might have become obvious to the scavengers first. Much unlike the usual frugal nature of the long-time residents, bundles of branches and logs had become all the fatter, lugged home with excited smiles and a hushed whisper of something unknown to come. You, who had only gotten here recently, honestly have no idea what’s going on– but you do notice that the extra firewood doesn’t seem to be being used for anything in particular, instead stored away at Lepton’s in beds of pine needles. As you look at the ever-growing pile, mixed in with fragrant dried cedar and sage, you wonder what in the world anyone could be preparing for in these dark and cold nights.
Weeks pass.
Eventually, you get your answer.

“I know that.” It had never mattered what they thought – their lives, their fates, their emotions they ought to hide – they had never mattered. It’s easy to throw that statement spitefully back, easy to feel despair in response, and the next one, despite its intentions, does the same. It provokes another laugh, a little weaker this time. “She should know that’s pointless. She should know more than anyone that no matter what, all I can do is fail!”
Of course, 2B had too much of a heart to acknowledge that. She was far too giving to give up on him. Even in this life, he could tell that much. Surely, she should have known events had passed that would make him realise. Surely, she should have known that he would have trespassed already. Surely, she should have finished it before he even stepped out of line. She should understand him. She should be able to predict him by now.
She hadn’t. If she had, she pretended she couldn’t.
His hands twitch. A2 was different than him. He remembered their fight. He remembered the many times they had clashed. But she was different this time. Her refusal, her change, her place easily above him – he flinches away. She really was everything he wasn’t. Perhaps she was even enforcing a choice over her own fate, as she took his away.
It’s enough to make him angry. But, more than that, it’s enough to make him despair. “You know that isn’t what I want.” But I don’t know what else to do. But I don’t know how to change. I can never change. “I don’t care. Just stay away from me.” He doesn’t move, the knowledge that her taunt is working frustrating him. “Stop acting like you know anything about me!”
A2 listened. that’s all she did for a moment. from a certain perspective she knows everything is pointless, that giving up and wallowing in despair is much easier. ... easy is never the way out for yorha units. 9S should know that.
‘ she knew that. and yet... ’ she trails off. despite having every reason to let go of hope, 2B was the one who so tightly clung to hope, like her sanity and everyone else’s depended on it. was that hopefulness her own or fabricated? something to keep her going despite the odds? she’d still want you to try.
why’s that she can’t help him? are her words that poorly chosen? are they as inflammable as they seem? perhaps... he doesn’t want to be saved. and that terrifies A2. she’s been there, felt that. on her own. without anyone to try and help her out.
she knows more about him than she would like to admit.
the times they’ve met.
the times she’d kill him.
she doesn’t want 9S to go through this.
‘ . . .9S. ’ she picks up the spear. ‘ i said i wouldn’t fight you, gave you the opportunity to strike me down. and yet you just... hesitate. if you really want to be on your own, why didn’t you just leave already? ’

Dropping another small, white fruit into her basket, Primrose looked at the tree standing in front of her. It was both ordinary while not being so. A breed she would have never seen back in Orsterra. These fruits– Heaven’s Dew, the villagers called them– were said to give you the strength to go on, if eaten. Of course, the dancer had been curious, and she may be able to trade some of them for necessities back at the village.
Hearing a noise from a little further away, Primrose turned to look at the origin. A woman, clad in black, seemed to be gathering small, colorful shards off of the trunks of trees.
“Collecting crystals, are we?”
Though, upon further inspection… was the girl wearing anything at all? Certainly that wasn’t right, she would have frozen solid already if that were the case. As if the thought brought a breeze, Primrose used her free hand to readjust her shawl.
collecting crap to exchange for other crap that can or not end up being useful... just like home. she scoffs down at a crystal she has in hands before promptly dumping it into her makeshift basket. it’s not as bad as it seems, once you get past the cold she should not be feeling, collecting shards gives her time to think. a calm and silence space. quiet until someone disrupts it.
‘ ...yea. ’ she says, a little unsure on how to proceed. small talk has never been her thing, it seems forced, but for the humans she might as well try instead of offering her usual snarky comebacks. casting a glance at the dancer’s task, she finally speaks, ‘ heaven’s dew... i’ve heard of it. do you really believe they can give you the strength to go on? ’

@vingarlla liked this {x} for a starter!!
She shouldn’t have been surprised that Pryna and Umbra would follow her anywhere. Even to the ends of the earth. Or a world unknown, in this instance. Their loyalty toward her knew no bounds. She was no stranger to colder weather, but… this was colder than she was used to. She had a feeling this was colder than either of her beloved dogs were used to as well. She had taken Pryna out with her to look into procuring something warmer. Lunafreya was situating the dog carefully outside of Pheri’s Cornerstone.
She slipped her jacket off, placing it over Pryna. It was only as the dog sat a little more upright did she notice the woman approaching. Lunafreya gently patted Pryna’s head as she rose to her feet. This was a new land filled with strangers. She couldn’t blame the dog for fretting, particularly in regard to Lunafreya’s safety. A polite smile was directed toward A2.
“She didn’t startle you, did she? Moving here has made her rather anxious, but… I assure you she means no ill will.”
some things, despite all the exposure you can get, just never grow old. meting humans would be the perfect example. despite fighting for mankind and hoping for their descent back on earth, and how much she wanted to meet them, A2 never expected this day to come. it shouldn’t be allowed to happen, after all.
she blinks, forcefully dragging herself out of this daze. she was being spoken to. oh, there’s a dog. right, she should’ve noticed it first.
‘ not at all. ’ A2 had never seen a dog before coming here. her previous world had a very... limited fauna. getting on one knee, the android places her spear down before extending a hand to pryna before petting her with a gentleness no one would’ve expected from this android. ‘ it looks like a wolf. does it has a name? ’ humans do that. they name their companions.
‘ it’s alright. to feel anxious, i mean. ’ she says whilst rising back on her feet, the politeness within the other’s smile coaxing one from A2 herself, though a little more subtle. and, almost as if she could hear pod urging her to introduce herself, she ‘ i’m A2. ’
yorhacommand.
White looked down at the riding crop with a sense of dread. She understood perfectly; why would she expect Number 2 to carry this burden? All she wanted was someone to remember that she had lived once. She had known love and loss. It was never meant to end this way.
There was no point in evading the truth now, but she knew the android wouldn’t like any of the answers. White looked back at her and answered as calmly as she could. “Yes. Yes, I knew everything this whole time. It was all recorded for the purpose of gathering data. I thought…” She pauses for a moment. The guilt was getting to her. “…if you had died, you wouldn’t know it even happened. It was all for nothing, I know that now, but at the time we were so sure it would all be worth it in the end.”
How did it all go so wrong? Everything was going so well, even Command was fooled. And now…she really would never see Jackass again. But as long as she was still out there, alive, perhaps that was all that mattered. Despite everything, she was all White had left in this world. She didn’t dispute being called cruel by someone from which she had ripped away even love. A2 didn’t have the small comfort of Number 4 surviving, and that was the cruelest thing of all.
“…What would you have done if our roles were reversed?”
of all possible answers, this is certainly the one she wasn’t expecting to get. so she knew... she always knew, and yet... and yet...
A2 smiles, shoulders shaking as she bites back a chuckle ― she couldn’t break now. she had gone too far, known too much, to simply lose it in the middle of nowhere. besides, isn’t that just what commander would want? no, showing weakness wasn’t an option. out of sheer determination, she pulls herself together before speaking.
‘ what i would’ve done? ’ she grits her teeth. i would’ve put them all out of their misery. that’s what anyone with an ounce of sympathy would’ve done. that’s what she would like to say if not for the words stuck in her throat. she clutches her spear, so tightly it might as well break at any moment. she thinks about her fallen comrades, about the touch she’ll never feel, of the duty she was never meant to accomplish... and stills her anger. time had made her wise, regardless of how short it was, A2 knows killing the commander won’t bring anyone back or provide closure. it’ll do nothing but help her fall back into a vicious cycle of anger.
‘ who cares? i’m not here to toy with “ what ifs ”. it doesn’t matter anymore. yorha is gone, there’s no war to be fought here. ’ we lack purpose. we aren’t required in this world. ‘ and it better stay that way. ’

An ironic twist of fate, or maybe a cruel prank played on her. She secretly wishes she won’t have to repeat her actions, her request, her disappearance – not again. But the possibility persists and it causes her to be slightly on edge, a detail anyone with a sharp mind would pick up immediately. After all, she really is just that vulnerable.
Approaching the fellow YoRHa unit, rogue or not, she intends to just greet her normally as she believes she should. Technically previous orders are still in effect, but she cannot seem to contact Command to confirm this so she wants to hold off. After all, she really is just that soft.
Besides, A2 agreed to her request despite having no obligation to do so. She could have simply walked away. The fact that she didn’t is why 2B now owes her a great deal of gratitude, something she hasn’t figured out how to express yet. After all, she really is just that clumsy.
“A2.” she speaks slowly, her voice cracking ever so slightly here and there, as if she’s still feeling the strain of a logic virus overtaking her system. It’s an illusion, phantom pain if you will. But it’s making every action more difficult to perform correctly. “It is… It’s nice to see you.”
though pod had pointed out, and multiple times, stressed how A2 seems to lack in the processing department, this time she understood the situation very well. in the many times she had encountered 2B, none of them were amicable. in fact they were all under the orders of command.
this time, it seems to be different.
this time... she is glad to see A2. this gratefulness must be connected to 2B’s unfair mission. that burden... it has to be it. it had been a few years ever since anyone had shown any type of positive reaction to A2′s presence. it feels... odd, and for a moment she just stands there.
‘ nice, huh? ’ had she not know of the great white’s incredible, and honestly a little insulting, powers she would most certainly be shocked to see 2B again. that day, she’d made sure the other would never return. fate had never been fond of A2′s plans, anyway. and still, part of her is glad to see 2B. glad to know the blood on her hands can be finally washed off. ‘ it’s... nice to see you too. how... how are you? ’
yorhacommand.
Everything A2 felt about her was justified. Ever since that day White sent her squadron to Pearl Harbour, she somehow knew she would regret betraying them. Betraying those who trusted her leadership, and for what? All for the cause of wiping out the machines? In the end, she failed to achieve that goal. It was all for nothing.
The former commander stayed silent for a time. What was there to say? At this point, ‘for the greater good’ wasn’t enough.
“…You’re right. You deserved to know everything from the start. I’m all that’s left of YoRHa now; it’s fitting that you should be the one to finally end it.” The cold made her breath come in clouds as she spoke. The android got to her feet. She wouldn’t die cowering, she would meet death face to face and greet it like an old friend.
“All I ask is that you take this when you’re finished.” White gestured to her riding crop that was under the other android’s boot. It held memories that were precious to her, memories that reminded her of what it is that she fought for. “It’s the truth. You would know what I know, for better or for worse.” She looked into the attacker-type’s eyes, silently remarking on how something so deadly could still be so beautiful.
“Whatever you choose to do, I am no longer the commander of YoRHa.”
it’s been a while since she last felt at the verge of snapping. she could very much recall in vivid details all the times anger crept up on her, there were several instances, more than she would like to admit. this moment is just another check. one that she’s been waiting for too long.
so why is she hesitating?
could it be her anger wasn’t as valid as she thought it was? perhaps a drip of selfishness in an ocean of hurt, yes. valid or not, A2 is hesitating.
‘ your memories... ’ her gaze follows as she gets up. ‘ why would i want them? do you... do you have any idea what it’s like to carry them? of course you don’t. always living in the safety of your precious bunker. ’ she spits those words, hurt dripping from her words without meaning to. she never asked for the truth, and yet the world keeps giving it to her on a silver plate decorated with responsibilities she would never be ready to take on. ‘ i never wanted any of this. to survive and... know things. ’
she’s aware command would have never achieved their results if not for keeping everyone in the dark. doesn’t mean it’s fair to the ones dying for a cause that would come to fail. you know what they say, ignorance is bliss.
‘ ...did you know, ’ A2 grips at the spear, tighter this time. ‘ - that i survived because no.4 detonated herself? ’ her voice cracks. ‘ i guess you didn’t. since you used my data for the production of 2E’s model. you’re just cruel. ’

It felt like a nightmare. As if the android had ever experienced such a thing before. Her entire reality now was the black abyss of space, and she existed as nothing but broken debris drifting through the endless void.

She could do nothing but think about what had led her to this fate. Was this truly what she deserved for all the sacrifices she had to make? Would anyone else have done better in her place?

Rebooting…
White’s eyes fluttered open, the light of the sky above her nearly overloading her eyes. She lifted a hand to shield them. How long had she been offline? Had she finally fallen to Earth? That seemed improbable, she’d have been vaporised on reentry. The android sat up and looked at her surroundings: snow. Nothing but snow and trees for as far as her eyes could see. This was something that only existed in the Kingdom of Noon, but the sunlight was a contradiction.
It was then that a figure stepped out from behind one of the trees which surround the former commander. The short white hair had thrown her off at first, but this wasn’t 2B. White reached for the riding crop that lay almost out of reach, but the attacker-type was too fast for her. She ran up and stepped on the crop, keeping White from picking it up.
“Number 2…” The blonde looked down in shame. She couldn’t bear to look Number 2 in the eyes. Is this why she was kept alive? Was it to get the death she deserved? “…You shouldn’t be here, you’ll get infected.”
A2 almost didn’t believe her eyes. to think that out of everyone who deserved a second chance at life, commander would be the one picked. this person, who sacrificed so many for the ‘greater good’, the one who hunted her down for knowing too much... the one who on the top her shit list. gods and their undecipherable jokes.
‘ really, infection ? ’ the grip around her trusty spear tightens. oh, how she dreamed about the day they would meet face to face, the day where she’d deliver judgment and avenge her fallen comrades. avenge all the others who were misguided by commander. ‘ we finally meet after years, and you think i’m gonna buy this crap? that you’re worried about me ? i’m sure you can do better than that. lying was never an issue for you. ’ she shifts closer, voice lowering in tone and rising in intensity.
‘ you shouldn’t be here. you shouldn’t even be alive. but you know that... right, commander? ’
