@vingtcoeurs
i'm sorry i didn't respond to your DM for 23 days. the number on the notification icon got really big and i began having irrational anxious thoughts such as "what if people are in there trying to contact me"
rpf is like 65% the most fun you've ever had and 35% the worst pain imaginable and a lot of the time you're feeling these simultaneously
still genuinely one of my favourite moments from the playoff run.
lane scoring a massive overtime playoff winner in the bell centre to put the habs up in the series vs tampa. and.
and then he just straight up gets scooped by guhls as part of their celly and looks comically small and like he's getting uppies
every single image I've seen of it had been fucking hilarious
let it be known that i touch grass frequently and I’m still like this.
—Sean Durzi congratulates his buddy, MVP Nick Suzuki, after the Guelph Storm wins the OHL's J. Ross Robertson Cup in 2019
Ken Dryden on my mind today. Do you ever think about how Dryden’s, Carey Price’s and Jacob Fowler’s debuts and first wins were all against the P*nguins?
Also do you ever think about the number 9, what it means to this organisation and our SOG count in the 2026 game seven against T*mpa?
Do you ever find yourself thinking about Cole and “Magic! At the Bell Centre!” and “De Maurice, à Boom Boom, à Guy, à Steve, à Pierre, à Stéphane, à Cole! Le flambeau est passé!” and “Nos bras meurtris vous tendent le flambeau, à vous toujours de le porter bien haut” and Nick and “A hundred point season! For the captain!”
Do you ever think about Saku Koivu returning to a standing ovation that just wouldn’t stop, went on through the anthems and basically all the way until his first shift was complete
Do you ever think about Lafleur’s tribute at Centre Bell and how the ovation lasted about ten minutes and how they tried several times to start the anthems but the people just wouldn’t stop cheering for Guy
Do you ever think about PK Subban returning to Centre Bell after the trade and getting an incredible tribute, ovation and how he was crying big tears at centre ice
Do you ever think about Marty checking every home game if Madame Béliveau is in attendance and waving to her when she is
the problem with going all in on a habs jersey is i love everyone on the team.
top contenders as of right now are suzi, jevans and jandy tho.
found a secondhand good condition jandy one (: (: (:
Do you think that if the Carlsson thing had happened before some of our young Habs had signed, they would have asked for more money? It’s thankfully not relevant but I can’t say the thought doesn’t haunt me a smidge.
Doubt it tbf. I joke that Lane’s standing off to one side with a rifle and a lecture locked and loaded, but the culture since Nick’s 7.875 has been to sign cap friendly contracts long term. And these guys follow Nick, not Leo Carlsson. They want to win championships together, and you do that by making sure there’s room for all of you under that cap.
I mean:
That’s pretty clearly a team with a plan and a kid who believes.

we're this deep into hockey youtube clips

not naming names but some of you are so creative and talented it's an honor to have you in my phone
the thing about Those Books is that it is blatantly obvious how misleading they are in regards to The City's culture. it's in how the fandom sometimes discusses future hypotheticals.
if you ask them to plot out an idea about That Guy's first game back in the city, they will often lay out a universe where the hockey cathedral itself is evil, the crowd jeers at him and throws things, etc etc.
but that's not what happens. like That City is an actual real city, not a place that was made up by the author. and that is just not what happens when a former player returns. no, not even one who left in free agency. i suppose you could chalk it up to artistic license but that feels cheap when everything is so clearly based on the real places and teams themselves.
former players are celebrated, welcomed Home if you will. that guy would be welcomed back with open arms because once, he was theirs.
and like as someone who enjoyed the show (and very much appreciated the way it highlighted local artists), it has made it almost impossible for me to interact with the fandom. i've got a bunch of randoms telling me they know My Hockey City better than i do. it's annoying.
