Kyle smiled and flagged down a waiter, ordering them two milkshakes and handing off a few bills so he could pay his check and the alpha’s. It was the least he could do to make up for all the ranting and his general sour attitude. “Everyone loves milkshakes, it’s why that’s my go too offer…you like a cookies and cream kind of guy. A little rough around the edges but generally pretty sweet.” He hummed as he took in the other’s words, bobbing his head likely.
“I don’t disagree, I mean…I can’t speak for Regenbogen but one of our wolves was attacked by someone in Galeach and as far as I know neither leader has done anything about it! And I love Ben I really do but he’s more concerned about wolves hitting on his adoptive son more than he is about stopping potential harm in the pack. I mean…no offense but if I suspected someone was going to lead a mutiny I would’ve quashed that straight away! Alas…it’s not my place, I’m a Beta and I’m not built for leadership.”
The brunette sighed softly and shook his head. “I try to help…I feel like it’s me busting my ass on the dispatch at work and then at home I’m keeping an eye on all these fires that he just…doesn’t see. I just wish he would listen…you know?”
Vin sighed at the news of Cicero’s pack spiraling so far out of control that he was allowing pack mates to attack others and go unpunished for it. He knew that his mate wasn’t equipped to lead, though it was no fault of his own. He just wasn’t built for it; he didn’t have the firm hand needed to be a leader. Cicero was... too sweet. Too kind and accepting of all.
“Sometimes the people we love don’t make the best choices... Sometimes they don’t listen to reason. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is let them make their mistakes, and show them the right way when they’re ready to learn.” That was his plan with Cicero, though it was beginning to be more forward moving than passive now, with the help of a few newly acquired friends.
“Anyone who looks could see you’re trying. Ben’s just... he’s taking on too much. There needs to be more than one strong leader in this place. Regenbogen and Gealach’s leaders are both distracted by a coming pup, and poor Ben’s bearing the burden of trying to watch over everything all at once. And I don’t blame him for picking personal matters over the impossible task of managing whole place by himself. He needs a hand. But...” Vin sighed again and shook his head. “He won’t take it from me.”
