hey guys its been a while since ive posted on here so i thought id share some life updates

♡ i got into college! im studying architecture and im almost done w 2/10 semesters (since it's a 5y course here)

♡ i stay in a hostel 6h away from home and ive adjusted quite decently except for the food sometimes

♡ two (ish) weeks ago i git teally homesick and went home for 2 days just to eat biriyani and i have zero regrets

♡ i don't really have a fixed study space anymore because my work is mostly drawing/drafting and there's not really enough space in my room to work because all my sheets are a2 sized. so i do all my work in the common study hall at my hostel

♡ so now i decorate the space above my bed with posters/ movie scenes printed out

idk what else to say, life goes on. the climate here is much hotter than back home so I've been bathing myself in sunscreen before college every morning. ive been obsessed with too sweet by andrew and the entire found heaven album and obviously im going insane about ttpd next week (??!!?)

the past year ive gotten really into cooking pasta (if even a single person tells me to post it, I will spam <3), i got a djungelskog for my birthday in march and i have literally never loved a stuffed toy more than this and i miss my salt lamp so so much

i can't think of anything else but send me asks if you wanna chat!!

forever in awe of people who pay attention. people who wait for you while you tie your shoes while the others have walked away. when they continue listening intently while the rest of the group stopped listening. noticing your moments of silence when everyone else hasn’t. “this made me think of you” noticing things you never even noticed about yourself. people who say “text me when you get home safe.” people who make you laugh until you cry. childhood friends who keep in touch. people with genuine intentions. people who are soft when the world has given them every opportunity to turn hard. the “let’s get ice cream” at 3am friend. the turn up the music in the car and sing friend. people whose actions match their words. people who make the world feel less chaotic. kindred spirits. the trustworthy and honest. hard workers. good listeners. clear communicators. people who love you for who you are. people who don’t ask you to be anything other than yourself. people who choose you. people who stay.

there are so many things in my life right now that’s just up in the air, and undecided but in the midst of all that i cannot explain how much joy it brought me to decorate my pinboard for may. i’ve had my guitar since like 2010 but i finally decided this summer to properly learn how to play it and it’s just my favourite thing ever now.

im trying not to be too stressed about college things because i know that in 6 months, everything will have worked out for the best, and there will be much better things to look forward to.

lil coffee shop studying session, working on an assignment about basal nuclei for neuroanatomy. it’s rough but i have cinnamon toast and a raspberry vanilla latte so it’ll be okay

as days pass, I wonder if I'll ever see you again. I wonder if we'd ever laugh at the same joke in different places, wonder if you'd come over to me if you saw me at a grocery store, picking up a bottle of orange juice that became my favorite because of you. if you'd solve the newspaper crossword completely one day, and remember how I'd have done it faster than you. would you think of our borrowed ways, shared habits, knowing glances? would you keep them like a part of me like I do keep a part of you?

we wonder if we could go back to those times we thought would last forever, but in fact were just moments that escaped us inevitably.

there are days where things dont go like you wanted them to go. the weather is gray and the wind is cold. you miss your bus. you miss a deadline. someone rejects you. you’re late for an appointment. but it’s okay. opportunities will present themselves again. there’s always the next bus. there will always be someone who wants to hug you. the weather will get warmer. i will feel the sun on my face again soon. i know it will be okay. we’re going to be okay.

you can't waste your life btw it's just not something that's possible to do. your mere existence is already a precious and valuable use of your time. the time you spent becoming who you are now was inherently worthwhile

The most discernible difference between me and the people I admire is that they are going for it. Whatever it is. The thing that they love doing, that they prioritize doing, I see it happen. I see the way the world opens up for people who are decisive. So I know it works. I’m still unsure of how best to use my array of skills, but the conversation is happening and I’m dusting out the cobwebs in my imagination. Listening for what feels good. I want to be someone I admire. I know the universe is giddy with opportunities for me, but I have to step outside my bubble of lethargy to access them. I haven’t seriously embraced the responsibility that is my own life, and, instead, living has been this passive experience. The people I admire are actively involved in their overall satisfaction with their lives. I want to be someone I admire.

Today was a pretty relaxing day despite having two tests coming up soon! I had a nice breakfast, baked a cake, and got to studying. I’m mostly prepping for a clinical skills practice final where we’ll have to do a history and physical exam for a few practice patients. I’m pretty nervous but here’s hoping it’ll go well!
