Probably a similar level of discourse as the upcoming Clinton-Trump debate... (via Monty Python’s “Argument Clinic” Sketch Reenacted by Two Vintage Voice Synthesizers (One Is Stephen Hawking’s Voice))
Fascinating to listen to the differences in speech clarity and naturalness between the two machines!
Suzann Gage, a pioneer in the Women’s Health Movement, lectured at I space in Chicago a couple weeks back and mentioned Frank Netter as one of her inspirations. Hearing this, I remembered I have a couple of books with his illustrations. Here is one example of Netter’s work from Clinical Symposia, Volume 16, Number 3, July-August-September, 1964.
Very possibly one of my favourite book dedications of all time.
(dedication from The Treatment of Stuttering - Charles Van Riper 1973)
The Pan Guide to Public Speaking by Robert Seton Lawrence (1964 edition).
From the Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary (by Double--M)
Modbio - Glands (by tiny palpitation)
I hope these paper lungs are still on display somewhere...
(cover of Shiley Tracheostomy Care - date unknown)
Another page of illustrations by Frank Netter, scanned from Clinical Symposia, Volume 16, Number 3, July-August-September, 1964. See this earlier post for more.
Voice Production and Speech by Greta Colson (1982 edition).
All books should be textured like this....
If *these* were the type of uniforms my employer was trying to implement, I'd definitely be on board...

Too bad the treatment is not as beautifully minimalist as both the title and the cover...
