Congrats on surviving your semester (even if it's the first semester it's a great accomplishment!)

If you don't mind me asking about your major, how long does majoring in performance takes? Is it like 3, 4 or 5 years? Is it like a conservatory? I want to know about different experiences in studying music, I'm already at the half of my studies in music (not exactly majoring, something similar to a vocational-techincal school)

Thanks! Yeah it’s just a four year for me, but I’m sure other schools could be different. I know some people taking an extra year but that’s mostly because they have a second major.

Well I have survived semester one with my viola performance major! Jury was today, went pretty alright (they didn’t kick me out) and we have a lil viola studio party later this week :))

Here’s my advice: don’t freak out about stuff ok it’s never bad like I was so scared of solo class cuz you have to ya know solo for the class but it’s honestly fine because it’s just your bros

Juries are like a check in, I didn’t even get a grade just comments from the jurors.

You get so many besties! In quartet and symphony especially and your studio the most. At least from my experience, it legit does not matter your skill levels everyone is friends with everyone fr

Storytime: Today’s Recital

so I had my viola recital today and basically I had one rehearsal with the pianist the day before. We ran through it once and my teacher was like “ok slow it down a bit” so we did it a bit slower and it was good. But today. I got up on stage (no warm up) and the piano started the intro bit. Shawty played it soooo slowwww. Like I had been playing 3 times that speed. So I’m freaking out and somehow manage to play through it without major mistakes. So yeah fun on the spot adapting today ✌️✌️

I officially decided I’m going to be a viola performance major so that’s fun. the college application process has been stressful but it’s almost time to start my submission process yayyy. so ya I guess this blog will follow me all the way through college fun times :))
