When she said she knew he’d come find her, he let out a low chuckle, shaking his head slightly as he looked down at her. “Yeah?” he said, voice amused. “Guess you know me too well nowadays then, huh?" The kiss made him smile against her lips, one hand tightening just slightly at her waist like he was pleased with himself for being the one she walked up to. At her comment about not sharing him, his brows lifted with a hint of playful pride. “Good,” he said easily. “Because I wasn’t planning on being shared either.” When she teased him about not having a good time before she showed up, Reign huffed out a laugh and glanced briefly toward his coworkers who were very obviously pretending not to watch. Violet waving at them made him shake his head. “Jesus,” he muttered under his breath with a grin. “They’re subtle as hell, right?” His attention returned to her almost immediately though, eyes dragging over her face as she stepped closer, her hands settling against his chest. The way she admitted she meant to distract him made his mouth curl into a slow, appreciative smile. “Oh you did,” he said quietly. “I haven’t heard a word anyone’s said since you walked in.” When he tilted her chin up and she mentioned Isaiah possibly torturing him about the other night, Reign scoffed softly. “Nonstop,” he said. “He looks at me with a knowing smirk and I know what he's thinking without him saying anything. He's such a good guy though." His mouth brushed along her jaw again before he pressed that kiss under her ear, clearly enjoying the way she reacted. When she muttered that he was about to earn the title of officer kinky, he actually laughed against her skin. “Hey,” he murmured, pulling back just enough to look at her with a grin. “You started this.” Her comment about toning it down made him raise an eyebrow, though the amused look on his face didn’t go anywhere. “Toning it down?” he repeated lightly. “I thought I was being respectful.” Then she asked if he liked the dress. Reign’s gaze dropped the second she mentioned it. When she turned slightly, showing it off, he took his time looking before his eyes lifted back to hers, the expression on his face openly appreciative. “Yeah,” he said slowly. “You weren’t lying.” There was a flash of that this is my girl kind of pride in the way he looked at her, like he couldn’t quite believe his luck. “You look,” he paused briefly, shaking his head with a quiet laugh. “Dangerously hot." When she asked if her man could come to the bar with her, Reign smirked and slid an arm around her waist again, guiding her with him. “Your man’s got you,” he said easily. When they reached the bar, he leaned his hip lightly against it, keeping her tucked close at his side. His hand lifted toward the bartender in an easy signal, two fingers raised to catch their attention. Then he looked down at Violet again, that familiar appreciative look crossing his face as his gaze flicked briefly over her dress before returning to her eyes. “What do you want, babe?”
when she got invited out for drinks with reign and his team, she obviously said yes, telling him she’d meet him at the bar after dropping nala and ayiden off at skylar’s place. once she did, she changed into that dress, and she got exactly the reaction she expected. he clearly had a hard time keeping his hands to himself. they kissed right there in front of everyone, and she couldn’t deny how good it felt, how wanted it made her feel. "they’re not subtle, like at all," she said with a small laugh, "but i don’t care, i only have eyes for you," she promised, leaning in to press another quick kiss to his lips. "it’s a shame he had to interrupt us right when things were getting interesting," she teased with a chuckle, "but you should be proud of that title, no one’s taking it away from you," she added with a playful wink. "i may have started it, but i love it," she smiled. "you look really good tonight," she whispered softly against his ear. she laughed at his reaction. "you’re not saying anything, but your eyes and your hands are doing all the talking," she teased. when she turned slightly so he could see the dress from another angle, she smiled. "thanks," she said, her cheeks lightly flushed. he wrapped an arm around her and guided them to the bar, and as he called the bartender, she couldn’t help but watch him, taking in the way he leaned there, effortlessly attractive. she noticed the way he kept glancing at her too. "i’ll have a martini," she said, nodding, "do you want one too?" she asked, looking at him softly, still a little in awe of how lucky she felt to have him.
