but seriously, story time, I got hit by a car last year right, and I was obviously in a lot of pain, because I got hit by a car, and they didn’t do an x ray to check if anything was broken? I don’t know why they didn’t. 

So fast forward to a couple months ago I get an x-ray done and find out if they would have done it sooner, like I don’t know within a month of it happening my tailbone could have healed correctly. Instead I kept getting told it was just bruised and to come back in a year. 

I literally went around with a broken tailbone for a year because my doctors didn’t feel like properly doing their jobs? Talk about fallibility of the medical industry.

This shit happens too often. My mom had severe back pain for months but when she asked her doctors to do more in depth tests but the doctors were like oh you’re just getting older (she was ~50 at the time) this is normal just take these medications blah blah. More months pass and my dad takes her to the ER because the pain has only gotten worse and worse and they find out she had fucking cancer. Fucking CANCER. STAGE IV LUNG CANCER. If they had caught it the months and months she first started feeling her pain they might have been able to do something but no, she died 9 months later.

Oh and the kicker???? Her oncologist said that, other than the cancer spreading, she had the body (internally) of a 35-year old. 35-YEAR OLD. So much for getting “older” and the pain being “normal” right????

Also her doctors blamed her back pain at least partially on her weight, even though she had lost about 60lbs or more 2 years prior and was keeping the weight off for a surgery she needed.

So if you have a concern about your body and doctors are telling you to just not worry about it, fucking don’t let them just pass on it! Protect your body and do what you fee is right to make sure you get the care you need.
