Talking a bit about Kai and Dal's relationship cause I have been developing their found-family relationship for years, ok? ok.
Dal didn't join the Shie Hassaikai because she believed in their cause. Her only reason for joining was because she wanted something to keep her together, something to replace her family after she lost them. Chisaki appears so alike to her eldest brother, she instantly grew attached to him and wanted to get to know him more in hopes of him replacing her brother until he wakes up.
She didn't think of Kai as his own person at first, he was just a replacement, a temporary coping mechanism. Whether he liked it or not, she didn't give him an option with how she dodged his question or confused him to the point he only stared at her in bewilderment instead of doing anything to harm her. She never allowed Chisaki to influence her decisions at the start— she didn't let him refuse to let her in the Shie Hassaikai, she kept visiting and doing things for them until she was too useful to him, until he had no choice but to let her stay or until he gave up.
There's no way just actions and small words worked, so she made sure to sprinkle in jabs towards Kai's insecurities and fears. Trying to give him advice in her own way to gain his trust. Buying him personal gifts, following him even outside work, and even asking her aunt to fund Kai's projects despite him never asking for her to do so. Just so he'd be in debt to her, just so she'd be too important to lose. Her plan was to stay until she had enough fun.
But she began to grow closer, and Kai as his own person. Still as her brother, but also as Kai. This made her conflicted, but she didn't mind either. Now she had someone she truly wanted to protect, someone that was her family. Wanting his validation because she wants them to be friends and family. She wants that connection she lost so early.
That made her more afraid and unstable, cause what if she lost him too? What if he died and left her all alone? Her uncle's side of the family didn't help, her anti-depressants didn't work, she didn't want to risk losing everything that made her comfortable all over again.
So she worked harder. She tried to get closer to him. She began to open up bit by bit, until he did the same too. Using her Quirk more frequently because of her insecurities and fears. Attempting to convince him to be kinder to Eri as she began to see his flaws. She wanted to "fix" him. Because she knew she'd begin to hate him ever since her careless attitude faded away, she knew she'd lose him.
She began to insult him, stating he's "a disappointment in the bosses eyes", constantly jabbing at the self-aware part of his mind until she was sure he was changing, at least a bit.
Dal is a very controlling person once something doesn't match her wants and wishes, just like Kai. She's just a much younger, rebellious, eccentric and confusing version of Overhaul.
Sometimes I wonder if you even remember him

Playing games like "Jackpot Crash Course" is a constant reminder that picking favorites in games like those is a complete death wish
Never pick favorites it will end horribly.
Stop looking at me like that son you're scaring me
I like to think Kai is incredibly oblivious when it comes to romantic advances, so Dal has to explain to him why the lady at the coffee shop who winked at him and gave him a note with her number with her lipstick stain on it was her making a move to get to know him more, and his obliviousness is why he's so single at the big age of 27 other than his horrible personality
Imagine having a 12 year old explain why your single to you that is mortifying
