ask doctor what a certain test will cost

doctor says test will cost $XX and "will reflex to appropriate tests if indicated"

doctor gives no indication whatsoever that reflex tests will cost extra if they occur, does not give any estimate of cost should they occur. cannot express this enough, NO warning at all that reflex testing will incur a cost that i will be liable for.

get test done assuming the test costs the aforementioned $XX that the doctor already charged me for and that was paid in full prior to the test.

get test results back, they include the reflex tests. doctor says nothing about extra charges. i go about my business.

six. months. later. doctor says hey btw we forgot to charge you for the reflex tests that the lab charged us for half a year ago. they cost $XXX (EIGHT TIMES the cost of the test that i paid for six months ago) "we can set up a payment plan for you to cover the additional charges."
