Aesthetic: paint stained t-shirts, a collection of journals, and fresh bouquets
biography ;
The second eldest Marino child, Violet was born in Georgia and has lived there on and off for most of her life
loves her siblings and they're honestly the most important people to her, doesn't have the best relationship with her mother and basically a non-existent one with her father now
her passion lies in art, especially creating work within several mediums, including clay, paint and printed matter
she moved briefly to new york for a year though unexpectedly returned to georgia where she and her sister decided to move to nightrest where her brother resided for over 10 years.
violet overall is an easy going person, loves getting to know people, though has sometimes been called too gullible
Violet had lost sleep sometime near sunrise and padded towards the kitchen in an effort not to make any noise to wake Zehra. She had arrived back a few days ago and hadn't settled back. She brewed some coffee and reached for the newspaper to see what she'd missed while being away. She wasn't sure how much time passed before she heard the words of her roommate. "Huh?" she turned away from the pages, "Did I wake you?"
Xander stands in front of her car, looking down at the hood. "Start it again, V." He calls out, listening to the rattling sound. He scrunches up his face, not being able to stand the sound. He exhales as he waves his hand out of the side of the car, trying to get her to stop. He walks around the car and looks over at her, raising his arms to rest them on the top of the door. "Your motor mounts are fucked. What have you been doing to this thing?"
Violet does as she is instructed, turning the key only to be met with the same sound. She grimaces as she listens to her car rattle on, she didn't know how it made it back from Georgia again. Though she was glad it survived the trip, she couldn't imagine getting stuck on the highway. At the sight of Xander's hand she stopped and stepped out of the car. "It's sounding worse right?" she shook her head looking at the vehicle she's had since she was sixteen. "Motor mounts?" the confusion clear in tone, "Nothing! Can you fix it though," she turned to him pleadingly. The last thing she needed now was to think of transportation.
"This grilled cheese is fantastic, Violet, you should have some," Marina pushed the plate across the table, urging her friend to have some. Maybe it was just the small hangover she was nursing that made everything taste so much better. Marina didn't want to talk about the dark cloud that hung over the city waiting to strike at any moment. It was becoming too hard to even get up in the morning nowadays with how many tragedies had struck.
Violet was pulled out of her thoughts with Marina's words, ever since her return she was feeling displaced. It was clear that she would never go back to Georgia, her mother making sure of that. This town was too fucked and yet she didn't want to leave the only family she had now. She did as requested, taking a bite and letting out an appreciative hum, "The food here always hits the spot." It wasn't lost on her that she was hanging out with her newfound brother's ex girlfriend, but Marina had been nothing but nice to her since her arrival. "What're you up to today?"
"I said to look at the camera," Jieun repeated, leaning closer to Violet as she extended her phone high into the air. Finger hovering over the record button before glancing over at her, "And you better make it look like you're having the time of your life."
"Say no more," Violet grinned realizing the task at hand, she pushed her hair behind her shoulders to indicate she was ready. As soon as Jieun's finger pressed the button she began swaying to the music. She wrapped an arm around her friend lip syncing to the next lyric. The music fest was exactly what she needed in an effort to leave her worries at the entrance.
There was no doubt that Toby had become one of her favourite people in the town. It was also clear that Vi didn’t know how to be there with him what with everything that transpired in the last few weeks. Today though was all about distractions and having a wholesome time. “Okay, weirdest tattoo you’ve ever seen? I know I have you beat on that one!” Already recalling her answer with a grin.
“Here you go!” Violet brought the second drink she was holding and placed it into the open and waiting hand of her brother. She had seen Ellie earlier and she had lost her before she ran into Jesse. She was curious to learn about his childhood but she didn’t want to pry further. “So how's work going?”
“Okay okay,” Vi shook her head when she caught back up with Aslan after his set. She hadn’t realized how many musicians and artists were in the town and she had felt Aslan was bullshitting when he told her earlier that day. “You were right and you were good!” She laughed, “C'mon let me get you a drink.”
“Huh?” She whipped her head quickly when she realized Jieun was talking. “Sorry the choreo is unreal!” She excused her lack of attention before making it a point that she was all ears. “What were you saying?”
“Nightrest looks good on you!” Violet spoke as she neared the surgeon, not hiding her the way her gaze lingered on his stature. It was nice to have a friendly face in the town where she hardly felt safe or like she belonged. Emir was more than friendly face, though she wouldn’t admit it aloud.
“I get it they’re in love or whatever,” Vi rolled her eyes playfully. Her gaze shifted back to Theo after staring at the couple off in the distance. “But let’s be serious you don’t need to have each others hand in your partners back jean pocket!” Was she bitter? Maybe a little but that didn’t deter the validity of her statement.
Selda sighed, patience almost at its end. "What do you want?" she asked, turning around at the voice. "Because I'm warning you now, I've had a really long day, and I don't know how much longer I can pretend to be nice."
Violet slowed to a halt as she ran after the Selda, a forgotten wallet in hand. The last few days had been difficult to say the least and this was not the reaction she expected. "You're warning me?" she scoffed folding her arms, "That's quite the threat from someone who's leaving important items behind..." she trailed, shifting the woman's wallet into view.
"So cute..." Kaylin is trying to figure out who the hell this chick is talking about. Her eyes lift up towards her, pressing her lips together when she admits that Dom is the person she took home. She loves Dom, in that platonic sort of way but for someone to think they are someone he's going to drop everything for. "Ah, Dom." She nods her head. "He's pretty great." Could she really tell her that he's practically sleeping with everyone... including her?
She allowed her thoughts to move on from the mystery stranger. It wasn't the first time she'd had met someone and forgotten to ask their name. Though it happened more during her short stint in New York compared to her Georgia upbringing. At the mention of Dom Vi can't help but laugh lightly, "I know that look!" she shook her head almost instantly. "I've given that look to my sister before. Don't worry I'm not looking for anything serious." Least of all in a town where people were ripe to be killed mysteriously. "Anyways enough about me! Are you excited for the music fest?"
Toby: about to spend the whooooole day at the beach
Toby: would love it if you joined me maybe?
Toby: could get that special from c's shanty that i was telling you about?
