VIOLET MADDEN. 28. CIS WOMAN. SHE/HER is here! They’ve lived in Cascade for 3 YEARS and currently reside in SHASTA HEIGHTS. VI is an ASPIRING MUSICIAN & BARISTA AT BIGFOOT BEANS SHASTA HEIGHTS and frequently hears that they look a lot like MADELAINE PETSCH. Funny, huh? If ever caught by Letterboxd, they’d say LA LA LAND (2016) is in their Top 4 and the theme song to their life’s soundtrack would be THE ARCHER by TAYLOR SWIFT.

BACKSTORY.
money could buy almost anything, but it couldn't buy affection. growing up in greenwich, connecticut, violet had every opportunity laid out before her, yet none of the attention she spent years chasing. while her father buried himself in work and reserved his pride for the son he'd always wanted, her mother found more comfort in concert halls than she ever did at home. raised more by a nanny than her own parents, violet learned early that love wasn't something freely given — it was something to be earned.
music became her language long before it became her dream. what started as an attempt to earn her mother's approval slowly became the one thing that truly belonged to her. stubborn to a fault and endlessly determined, she carried that passion through college, refusing to let anyone convince her it was just another childhood hobby she'd eventually outgrow.
when graduation came, so did the expectations she'd spent years trying to outrun. instead of choosing the stable career her parents envisioned, violet found a tiny apartment and took a job as a barista — just enough to pay the bills while keeping her nights free. most evenings are spent tucked into the corner of a neighborhood bar, café, or local music venue with a guitar in her hands, playing for strangers and hoping one of them might be the right person at the right time.
maybe nothing comes from it. maybe everything does. either way, every shift behind the espresso machine, every song scribbled into a coffee-stained notebook, and every late-night performance is another step toward the life she's choosing for herself.
she isn't chasing someone's approval anymore. she's chasing the dream that was hers all along.

the bar was usually packed on nights when they splurged on live music, and tonight was no exception. violet was thankful to have snagged one of the last two stools before placing an order with the bartender. she scanned the room, her gaze landing on someone slipping in just as the band began setting up. they looked around, clearly searching for a seat — just as she had moments earlier.
“you can sit down, you know,” she said, motioning to the empty stool beside her. “i don’t think another will open up anytime soon. i won’t bite — promise.”
gianna had just finished work for the day and completely forgot she was still wearing her wig, she usually takes it off in the dressing room, but today she felt like being a redhead for the rest of the day. "are you really gonna leave without asking me the question you’ve been dying to ask me?"
“okay, you got me.” violet admitted, holding up both hands in mock surrender. “i’ve been dying to know where you got that top, it’s gorgeous.” it was cute, eye catching, something you could wear anywhere and that was enough for her to want to add to her personal closet.
“you had me at shot, but how could someone really refuse you on your birthday?” violet questioned, laughing softly. “what’s your liquor of choice…oh, and happy birthday.”
