It's so weird to see people say that collie should never be portrayed as stoic and mean when the very first description of him in the book is "a mean son of a bitch." But later he does laugh and talk with everyone else later so if you're a stranger he would probably come off as a little mean. I think he just takes time to decide if he wants to talk to a person. Also in the book there's a part where scramm asks him why he swears so much and he basically says "Why do you blow your fucking nose so much. Because it's the way I fucking am" So he does have emotions he would probably actually swear more when saying a serious feelings. Like "I fucking love you" "thanks for brinng me to this shitty place" "you changed your fuckass haircut it looks cool." (he gives bakugo vibes to me) He does come off as mean or stoic sometimes and that's OKAY. These aren't character flaws I know people like this in real life. He's not mean he just swears a lot because it's who he is.

i think the issue with "stoic" is that it implies a quiet kind of wisdom which isn't necessarily the case. collie's just some guy. some guy with probably some anger issues who likes having a fun time with his friends and swearing and drinking and singing. hes not even necessarily reserved. half of all the scenes he's in he's just watching the musketeers and smiling along and by the end he's openly talking to all of them (because what other choice does he have). collie's not quiet, hes not particularly stoic, he's a bit mean, he cares about the other walkers, he has a strong sense of justice, HIGHKEY he's one of the most Human characters in the story which is why he's my favorite, describing his personality in just a few words feels really impossible idk

the mischaracterization of art & collie is sooo blatantly purposeful at some points. I genuinely don’t know how people saw art as aggressive when he is so polite and friendly and distraught over not being able to help others. and collie literally got a little annoyed one time and then sang a little song with his buddies what more do you want

Please please please listen to me. Sioux Falls is not in a reservation. The only canon info we get about where Collie Parker is from is Sioux Falls. Which is not in a rez. Not even next to one. We can’t keep pushing every USAmerican native person onto a rez by assuming that’s where they all are (this is legitimately the colonizer mindset the government wants you to maintain), they don’t all live there. They just don’t. Please look at a map I am begging you.

Before, I only shipped PetexRay. I preferred the other boys to be friends, or brothers, or a secret third thing™. Anything as long as they weren't romantic. But after following you for less than a week... my heart's been ignited by ArtxCollie. You converted me. Goddamnit.

Delighted to hear it! I love Art/Collie so much, my personal fave ship for either of em by far, they have such a fantastic dynamic & there's so much to pull from with their lil background friendship in the movie like.... Them comforting one another in the background, walking together at multiple points, Collie grabbing & dancing with Art during his Clementine sing-a-long, & Art being the one person who tries to go back for Collie while Art himself has literally started to hemorrhage mind you! but his instincts were still to go be with Collie in that moment until Ray grabbed him! Insane when you think about it! Like they have such great chemistry to start with & they're both also like, ultimately kind ppl who are very outspoken in the face of cruelty & very passionate about what matters. Plus there's the way Collie tried to be friends with all the remaining boys before his death & though he was but the only person who actually really reciprocated that connection/friendship on the same level was Art... Rambling sorry but they're just so wonderful, I love them, & I'm always happy to bring new ppl into Barker Nation, I need more ppl to open up their eyes and see the vision here
