jinsparks:
He can’t help but find her slight reaction to his comment adorable. The word lingers in the back of his mind as he takes an instinctive step closer to her, handing her the sword that was still in his grasp. She could do her abracadabra stuff with that too, there’s no way in hell he’s carrying the sword into the middle of Seoul. “Anything is fine with me, and that doesn’t sound so bad. I was thinking it would take another five hours to get back somewhere.” They’ve spent majority of their day together, and it was a common occurrence on the weekends when they met up to train. Early in the morning they’d set off as Jinyoung continuously complained about the timing, and by evening they would be done. Or so their bodies would incline them to think. He stretched his arms over his head, muscles SORE from their training.
When she addresses him again, he turns his attention back to her quickly. His eyes scan her body, stopping to admire the curves she has with no thought about how she’d react to his gaze. Turning back to lock eyes with her he cocks his head for a moment as if deep in thought. Without answering he closes the gap between the two, pulse quickening at his own actions. He’s frozen in his spot for a moment before he remembers what he’d approached her for. With one hand lazily placed on her shoulder, he reaches behind her head with his other hand to pull her hair out of the ponytail. Using both his hands he weaves his fingers through her hair, ruffling it out a little to give it more volume. A final curl of his finger in her tresses and he nods, bright grin across his lips as he admires his work. “There, perfect.” The word sits heavy in the air, too much meaning behind it so he’s quick to change the topic. Turning his back to her he begins to lead the way, playful demeanour back.
“Onwards and upwards! To the land of chicken we go !!”
“Ah.” She takes the sword from him, but instead of making it disappear the same way she had done with hers, she places a hand on either end and begins to squeeze. Slowly, the sword disappears into her palms until they meet each other. She could probably ditch being a model and spend the rest of her life as a magician if she wanted. “We’ve unconsciously moved closer to civilization as time went on. It’s only natural; we are drawn to that energy. Gods cannot exist without those who worship them.” She shoots a look upwards, to the sky, as she wondered whether her mother could hear what she said while Jinyoung was busy stretching.
When she focuses back on him, his dark eyes are taking her in as if he were a wolf and her the prey. It is the other way around between them, and though she is used to strangers’ gazes due to her job, Jinyoung’s feels different. It feels…meaningful? Especially when his eyes, serious and almost distant, focus on hers. Only the sound of the wind caressing the grass can be heard until he suddenly approaches her with what seems like a kind of resolve that is unknown to her. Instinctively, her eyes widen and she leans back slightly. He’s not much taller than she is but she still has to look up to look him in the eye. And then comes his touch. One hand on her shoulder, the other clumsily ridding her hair of its binding. All the while she is looking at him, lips slightly parted and breath caught in her throat. She is entranced as she assumes the wind is ruffling her hair but no, those are his fingers. A soft sigh leaves her lips and her eyelids lower to protect her transparent eyes from his. She doesn’t see his smile but can hear it in his voice when he announces he is done and satisfied.
When she opens her eyes, his back is turned to her and he is walking off like a toy soldier. She blinks a few times and skips a few steps after him to catch up. “Ack, don’t leave me!” She slides her backpack properly on then reaches up to unconsciously push some hair away from her face but without intention to alter the work he’s done. She is stunned to say the least and can’t bring herself to say more than a simple “thank you” with a soft smile. But she avoids his gaze or looking at him as they walk in silence through the woods. Nothing she enjoys more than being surrounded by green life.
