carson was growing increasingly more frustrated with the batter, it was either too chunky or too runny, and she couldn’t find any middle ground. she had spent so long adding more batter and more water in a cycle she had entirely lost track of time. hearing bash’s voice broke her out of whatever pathetic trance she had worked herself into, she jumped a bit. “i don’t know where you heard such a ridiculous thing.” she comments, returning the cheeky nature of his words. “you’re not going to contract anything!” she yelps, playfully pushing the male away from her. she huffs in frustration, pushing some stray hairs from her face. “i suppose i’m not going to make you eat it. what would you rather have?” she muses, glancing over at the male as she tosses the batter in the trash can.

“so just relax and follow my voice.” spencer was calm and made sure not to go too far away in case the witness grew scared. “you’re in bed, and you just closed your eyes to go to sleep. you remember turning the lights off. what did you hear?”

remy sighed deeply, knowing exactly what spencer was trying to do — calm her so that she would hopefully remember more about her attacker, unfortunately her being well aware of all the protocols here made it all the more difficult for it to actually work. the brunette had started working with the FBI a little over six months before she was attacked, she had no idea whether the attack was related to her job, or just something random. she clears her throat before allowing her eyes to fall shut, spencer did have something soothing about him, something familiar almost. something that made remy feel at home for the first time since all this happened. “i heard my dog’s nails against my wood floor, he was hot and got off the bed a bit before, he was trying to get comfortable.”

logan’s facial expression shifted immediately from neutral to confused, to concern as her eyes landed on the other’s visage. “what the fuck happened?” she asks, dropping her bag she walks over to the male, grabbing his face in her hands so she can assess the damage.

     molly would never not love jude – she was sure of that much. their breakup had been the only feasible choice for them at the time. molly had been partying too much, drinking too much, flirting too much. it was too much for jude, and rightfully so. the blonde’s best friend, that molly had grown close to over the course of their relationship, was her shoulder to cry on. she was there to pick molly up from her rock bottom, brush her off, and help her get back on her feet. it’s just that those feet had walked right on back to jude as soon as they could.

     the shaky breath that fell from the blonde’s lips made molly’s heart ache. she knew this was a complicated situation for jude – a situation that molly had put her in without asking. the guilt she felt, every day, was overwhelming. but being inches from jude, her jude, as often as possible made it all worth it. molly stepped closer, her arms slowly moving to loop around the other girl’s waist and tugged her into a gentle embrace. “i’m sorry, j,” molly whispered, leaning forward to nuzzle into the warm crook of jude’s neck. she breathed in her comforting, familiar smell. “but i can’t stay away from you.”

jude was torn, and on top of that, this terrible situation didn’t seem to have any end in sight. she wasn’t going to walk away from molly, whether that meant she got her part time or not. however, she also wasn’t sure that molly planned on leaving her current relationship any time soon. which meant yet again jude was at the mercy of another. she hated herself for allowing molly to come back like this, to make her a liar, a cheater. sure, she wasn’t the one in the relationship but it was her best friend. truthfully, jude never would have done this had her best friend not put her in this situation in the first place, molly was hers, even after they broke up, there was an unspoken rule that everyone was to stay away from her, and her best friend didn’t obey that. or maybe that’s just what jude told herself to justify the situation. “and you know i can’t stay away from you.” she whispers, her voice low as she tilts her head to the side, the feeling of molly near her neck leaving her almost insatiable, even if was a minor touch. “i just want you back.” she admitted, panic ensuing as soon as the worlds left her lips. she pulled back a little, immediately trying to read molly’s face. they hadn’t discussed this yet, hadn’t talked about what all of this meant, or was going to mean for them in the future. jude wasn’t even sure if they were just fucking or not.

Dirk had to thank his lucky stars Carter had been able to come to rescue him. His captor didn’t seem like he was going to call the cops any time soon and that was a curse in disguise if he’d ever seen one. He doubted he wanted to find out how Mr. Charles Burrows took care of thieves.

 “There won’t be a next time.” He was aware of how arrogant that sounded but he could easily fix the problem that got him caught in the first place with a pair of handcuffs and some spare time. As long as he didn’t get caught again before he had gotten better at picking locks he’d be fine. He dug out the stolen wallet and took out what he assumed was close to half of the bills inside. His plan had been to just take out all the loose cash and dump the rest but he could score some more money out of the mostly failed break-in if he had someone who could use the credits cards without it blowing up in their face. “Remind me again- How good are you when it comes to less petty crimes?”

“won’t be a text time.” she repeats with a scoff. “there shouldn’t have been a first time. you wanna be a thief but can’t get your way out of handcuffs?” she asks, as if that’s the most ridiculous thing she’s ever heard. carter was smart enough to not get caught, but if she had, she was prepared. the blonde was exactly the kind of friend you wanted to have on speed dial if you killed someone. she was cold, collected, cunning. unfortunately for most people, carter was also extremely self-serving, so it was rare anyone would catch her doing anything for anyone else without it benefiting her in some way. “you know i’m good at everything bad.” she rolls her eyes, narrowing them as she glances over at him. “what did you have in mind?”

logan watched lily talk as she drank from her water. honestly, she could listen to lily recite the abc’s, and logan would still watch her with awe and adoration. logan knew she shouldn’t indulge herself, though- even just watching her made things harder than they should’ve been. lily could do that one of many mannerisms that could cause logan to spill some tricky wording like “wow, i could make you so happy” and it’d just be a whole mess of a situation. the worst part was that logan’s brother wasn’t even a bad guy, either. sure- logan thought he was a bit too nice and a try hard but that didn’t mean he didn’t deserve a nice girl like lily. logan should just focus on keeping her distance but it was like the second they interacted, logan was hook line and sinker inside of lily’s gravity. all she had to do was say no to lily’s offer and be done with that. but then she got to thinking of wanting to see how the water and rays of sun glistened against lily’s skin and getting a few stolen glances here and there and it was like dangling a piece of meat in front of a dog who hadn’t eaten in days. logan pursed her lips together in thought before they lazily stretched into a smile. “there’s probably crazy amount of people down there, anyway. yeah, i’ll come over.” the agreement is out of logan’s system before she even realizes what she’s agreeing to. too late to go back on that now. logan closed off her water and stuffed it into the small backpack that she had hanging from her shoulder- filled with her necessities for spending the afternoon out of the house. “my brother also thinks cheesecake is disgusting so we never trust his opinion — ever.” she walked closer to where lily was standing and rested her hip against the kitchen island that stood between them. logan still consciously trying to keep her distance. “i can uh, pay for take out for us later if you want. that’s the best i can do for being a nice enough guest. that and unlimited hits from my pen if you’re into that.”

over the past couple of weeks whenever lily had been around logan she started picking up a vibe that maybe her feelings for the girl weren’t as far fetched as she originally thought, of course she was a hopeless romantic and could’ve been reading all of logan’s friendly interactions with her wrong. now that she was getting older, it was getting a lot harder for the redhead to stay in the closet, she had been with women before, on vacations she took to the city, one night stands that meant nothing. it was tiring not being able to have a genuine connection with anyone. it had left her somewhat guarded, starved for affection. “good, it’s settled. i hostess and you order take out.” she comments authoritatively before whisking the other away to her car. 

the redhead slowly pulls off her cover up, revealing the bikini that lay beneath, trying to glance in logan’s direction to see if the other is looking. “the only downfall of being a natural redhead is that i’m also naturally pasty as fuck.” pulling sunscreen out of her bag, she flicks off her sandals, before beginning to spread the sunscreen along her arms, legs, and stomach. “would you be able to get my back for me?” her hands outstretched to hand the other female the bottle, trying her best to conceal the smirk on her face. the idea of logan’s hands on her body, even if it was just her back sent chills down her spine. she turned on her heel, lifting her long red locks to reveal her open back.

of course it had all been a plan to get her ex back but as time went on, aphrodite realized just how bad their relationship had been. and even though her and dillon had been acting like a couple, some moments felt so real. at least to her. “she just took it okay? it just slipped my mind.” the conversations wasn’t going like she wanted it to. “we just talked okay? she was upset and i felt bad so i stayed for a while.” she ran a finger through her hair out of frustration. “it isn’t a secret dillon! because nothing happened between me and her. nothing. i wasn’t hiding it from you.” 

maybe she was being too harsh, she had a tendency to get that way when she was hurt. displaying any type of sadness — hurt, anguish, defeat — wasn’t really dillon’s thing, she often covered it up with anger, keeping everyone at arms length. clearly this situation was not an exception. she still felt like she had been punched in the gut even though it had been hours since she found out aphrodite spent the night. “stayed for a while? spending the whole night isn’t just staying for a while because your ex is upset. you really expect me to believe nothing happened? that’s sure as fuck not what she made it seem like, and i’m not a fucking idiot.” the entire thing was falling apart, crashing and burning all around her and dillon was standing back allowing it to crumble miserably. she stuffed her hands into her pockets, sighing in frustration. she was even more annoyed that this entire time she had been staying away from the other person she wrote a letter for, her sister’s ex-boyfriend, josh. if she wasn’t terrified that her sister would never speak to her again, she probably would have gone for it, now she was regretting her decision.

Dirk rubbed the handcuff marks on his right wrist. After this, he sure as hell was going to learn how to pick locks using only his nondominant hand. He might not be caught redhanded very often but once he was the people he was stealing from didn’t tend to be very gentle. Luckily his phone hadn’t been taken and he was able to call - or text rather - for reinforcements while the owner of the house was in the bathroom. He was glad that he had at least been able to dig out his captor’s wallet before being handcuffed to a radiator, otherwise, it would’ve been a total bust.

alright, i tried to get out as many replies as i could before i had to head to work!! sorry about my lack of activity lately things have been super hectic.

life was already too draining in itself to be revengeful or petty. so logan believed. sure, it did sting in an awful kind of way when logan’s brother had gloated about his new girlfriend - how hot she was, how smart, etc. - only for logan to find out it was her. she couldn’t be mad at him, though. it wasn’t like logan was going around announcing her first crush’s name to everyone. logan was eight and found the crush to be more annoying than anything else. years pass and logan still found her to be one of the most effervescent people out there. it kind of ruined any of logan’s relationship as she might have compared them to her - which she knew was ridiculous, considering that they probably didn’t even know much of logan’s existence, but she could feel all those school yard crush-like feelings overwhelm her whenever she saw her. it kind of felt like she was on a roller coaster and was forever climbing up that first, tall dip while her stomach was doing somersaults the entire time. that coaster felt like it was still climb and just never descending. even when she accidentally ran into them in the kitchen, not expecting their presence, and actually kind of shocked to not see her brother in sight. “oh, hey. i thought i was the only one here. you guys heading to the pool?” she asked, noticing the pile of beach towels that were on top of the kitchen island. logan opened the fridge and took out of water bottle, she herself dressed in a bikini and cover up, because she had similar plans to hang by the pool, too. “where is jerkface, anyway?”

to say lily was closeted would be an understatement. she had spent a majority of her life knowing full and well that she was strictly into women, and masking that by entering serious relationships with men she never ended up sleeping with. she usually found some kind of excuse whether it be that she was too afraid of getting pregnant, she was waiting until marriage, or just that she wanted it to be special either way, it typically wasn’t long before she got bored or her boyfriend’s got tired of waiting and they would split up. however, things had actually been going decently well with her current boyfriend, he didn’t pressure her much and he was sweet enough. the only issue being that his sister was the first girl lily had ever developed a crush on. she was the actual reason lily realized she was gay, so being around her wasn’t exactly easy. that still didn’t stop lily from wanting to be around logan more and more every time they spoke. soon enough, she found herself lying in order to spend more time with the other, especially if her boyfriend wasn’t going to be around. “we were supposed to be going to the pool, but he got called into work.” she lied, glancing down to keep her gaze off of the other female’s body. “if you were headed there too maybe we could go together — or yknow, if you’re feeling less up to being around people, my pool is always open.” lily came from money, which meant he parents had built her a pretty little house when she turned eighteen that she lived in for free, an in ground pool was just an added perk. “your brother prefers the pool here because mine’s heated and he seems to think that takes away from the whole point of a pool, but i love it.”  she gushed, obviously trying to make her house seem like the better option here.
