why does noone on this site know how to take care of their dogs. "raw food diets are the best!!" "choke chains work wonders!" "cropping and docking is amazing!" what the fuck is wrong with yall
LMFAOOOO raw food diets ARE the best, choke collars do no harm if used properly, cropping and docking exists for medical reasons not just aesthetics. you are very misinformed and swayed by the ARA agenda. believe it or not pet professionals are on the website too.
āpet professionalā hi i sent in this ask, and i am also in the pet profession industry! I have worked with other professionals for the past three years who are recognised and fully qualified under the APDT.
- Raw food diets have been shown to have many negative effects that are extremely hazardous to dog health and only work under extremely specalised conditions, and even then do not guarantee to be successful and nutritious diets for your pet. on the other hand it has been proven many times that kibble diets with high-quality brands are extremely good for your dogs as they provide a full nutritional diet for your dog. the main exceptions to raw food diets are breeds that are still very closely related to wolves, such as most sledding breeds. you really going to sit here and tell me that buying your dog a packet of frozen chicken breasts from your local target store is the best way to feed your dog?
- Choke chains are 1) designed to harm dogs and 2) used incorrectly by many, many people and 3) banned in several countries on account of animal cruelty. many pet professionals discourage their use and on top of that, many pet profession businesses often refuse admission to dogs if they are seen to be wearing a choke chain/prong collar/shock collar.
- this post says nothing about medical reasons for docking. docking for medical reasons is fine, as is with working dogs. docking for aesthetics is not. cropping is also shown to have literally no health benefits for either health reasons or working reasons. even within dog shows and breeding there has been attempts to stop docking and cropping. on top of this, cropping and docking is also illegal in several countries if done aesthetically, also on account of animal cruelty.
Sitting here and screaming that people canāt argue because youāre aĀ āpet professionalā and then whinging about other people being swayed by an ecoterrorist agenda is extremely pathetic. If you really were a pet professional youād know these things and know that many people within our profession have vastly different opinions and ways to train their dogs.
if your way of training your dog is with negative reinforcement then you are in the wrong line of business.
