shota isnt a great term because it plays into a culture of sexually commodifying childhood and all the things that come with it like being small and having a baby face and being innocent and fumbling etc. etc.

terms like shota and loli literally refer to art and works that sexualize children or people who look like them, purely because they are childlike. CSA is a real problem and normalizing it does nothing for victims and youth at risk

sexual abuse of children is not a small or unimportant thing. 67 percent of sexual assaults are against juvenile victims. over the course of their lifetime,  28% of U.S. youth ages 14 to 17 had been sexually victimized.

we live in a culture that already normalizes predatory behaviors wrt young people. ‘barely 18’ porn is a hugely popular industry for example, and the concept of virginity (which is closely linked to being ‘young’ and ‘pure’) is something that’s been commodified for years and years

The biggest, most annoying problem with posts like this are that they detract from the real problems going on and place both sides (in this case the white supremacist/white washing side and the not-fucking-racist side) on the same level of wrongness. Which is clearly wrong.

Also stop tagging these posts as POCecil, I’m not sure what these ‘I DEFEND ALL HEADCANONS OKAY GUYS’ posts are trying to accomplish exactly (White people trying to not feel racist and trying to let everyone know how not racist they are?), but especially when you list ‘purple’ as a racial option I am less inclined to take this seriously.

And literally the issue is not people ~not accepting white headcanons~. It’s that white headcanons are over-represented and an indication of a bigger issue.
