could use a bit of advice from people who work with dogs.

one of my family’s dogs was attacked, had to have surgery cause her jaw was broken, and now she can’t have anything in her mouth for 3 months (food/toys). i’m looking for activities she could do during her recovery

I’m having trouble finding mental stimulation games or exercises for post surgery dogs that don’t involve eating treats, beyond walks, which are a bit difficult with her because she never learned properly and pulls really hard. she’s overall not very obedient with commands, but she does know how to sit.

it’s a very stressful situation because she’s a VERY active dog, and she has to be confined to a small space now for months so she doesn’t accidentally chew on anything. if anyone has any advice/info/links for activities to keep her entertained and stress free i would appreciate it.

the only info i found that could be useful for her situation is making her environment feel a little different by rotating and placing objects around every so often so it feels new, and giving her things to smell. but if there’s some effective way to have her do some mental exercises WITHOUT treats within the small space she has to stay in that’d be good.
