i unfortunately no longer feel comfortable using ch.arisma ca.rpenter as a fc and that may be why i've been neglecting this blog. i am currently searching for a replacement & am fully open to suggestions. i will then revamp with a new blog. i understand if people don't want to interact with a recast cordelia, so no hard feelings if you don't follow me over to the new place, but i cannot in good conscience continue to use her.

EVERYTHING STILL FELT VIOLENTLY SENSITIVE AND BEWILDERINGLY FRESH TO THE REVIVED VAMPIRE SLAYER. after having to go through the gut-wrenching journey from ( what she could only assume as ) a peaceful, heavenly dimension back to reality where darkness and evil consumed all light. her friends felt foreign to her and her body felt detached from her own self. with every step she took in her own skin, it felt as though she was melting into the floor and falling into her own pit of hell. she needed a break from her daily responsibilities as a sister, a friend, and maybe even so as the slayer. she needed to feel something other than the consuming desire to return back to her tranquil state in the ground because she couldn't do that to her loved ones a second time; she doesn't think she could even bare the thought of letting them down again and abandoning them once more.

BECAUSE OF THIS BREAK SHE CRAVED IN HER NEW LIFE, SHE DECIDED TO TAKE A FEW DAYS OFF FROM SUNNYHELL AND PAY A VISIT TO HER EX-BOYFRIEND: A VERY MUCH BELOVED ONE. she heard he was running his own investigations firm and still following the mission of carrying the weight on his shoulders; protecting the innocents just as she has [ .... ] maybe not as much as she once used to. the people that aided him were old colleagues and maybe even ones she once at a time could call friends. she was hoping she could catch angel alone but once buffy entered into the massive, wide-spaced hotel, she could clearly see she wasn't alone and it was none other than @visiongrl standing behind the reception desk looking through what seemed to be case files [ .... ] or maybe it was celebrity magazines, you could never tell with cordelia chase. buffy dreaded making her way up to the desk but she couldn't pretend that she didn't see her. the slayer cautiously reaches the desk and taps her nails on the counter for a moment before finally speaking to catch her peer's attention. “ hey cordy, how goes it ? [ .... ] that's some quality research you got going on there ” she started, a hint of sarcasm dripping from her tone but she couldn't help it. she's always known cordelia to be the least helpful of the bunch; at least, that's the only way buffy remembered her and that's what left the slayer wondering how angel could have someone like her around. she was going to be in for quite the surprise.

she’s  been  placed    (  officially  as  well  as  begrudgingly  )    on  desk  duty.      ⸻      boss’  orders.  cordelia  doesn’t  care  a  whole  lot  for  it.  the  old  her  would  have.  the  girl  from  sunnydale,  dreaming  of  stardom;    she  would’ve  jumped  at  the  chance  to  sit  by  a  silent  phone  all  day    &    read  gossip  magazines,  but  that  wasn’t  her  anymore.  she’d  grown.  from  cheerleader  to  𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚖𝚙𝚒𝚘𝚗,  being  in  the  thick  of  fighting  the  good  fight  had  become  almost  second  nature  to  her  now.  being  taken  out  the  field,  even  if  angel  did  so  with  the  best  intentions,  had  her  shifting  around  uncomfortably    /    restless,  unable  to  relax.  he’s  looking  out  for  her.  ever  since  wolfram    &    hart  pulled  their  𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚙  𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚔  with  her  visions,  he’s  been  cautious.  too  cautious  almost,  though  bones  that  ache  and  throb  as  a  result  of  her  last  glimpse  into  the  future  silently  thank  him.  at  least  it  gives  her  a  chance  to  catch  up  on  research,  eyes  quietly  going  over  everything  they’d  tried  to  gather  on  the  man  angel  rescued  for  lilah.  it’s  become  somewhat  of  an  𝚘𝚋𝚜𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗  of  cordelia’s,  given  that  he  only  did  it  to  save  her.    ＂    jeez.  you’d  think  a  dude  imprisoned  in  a  hell  dimension  might’ve  left  some  breadcrumbs  behind.    ＂    one  hand  lifts  to  massage  temple,  muttering  under  breath.  

the  last  thing  she  expects  is  another  voice  to  make  itself  heard.  gaze  immediately  snaps  up  and  widens,  stunned  into  momentary    (    and  uncharacteristic  )    silence  at  WHO  she  sees  standing  there  when  she  looks  up.    ＂    buffy?    ＂    eyes  have  to  blink  a  few  times,  just  to  be  sure.  yup,  that’s  definitely  one  very  spright  slayer.    ＂    buffy.  wow    …    you’re  actually  here.      ⸻      you’re  alive.    ＂    it  isn’t  news  exactly.  they’d  all  been  there  when  angel  received  the  call.  however,  there  was  a  big  difference  in  hearing  it  and  seeing  @insufferablemonsters  right  here,  in  los  angeles.    ＂    good!  good  for  you.  that’s,  um    …    good?  you  look  great.    ＂    it’s  a  struggle  to  find  the  right  words  and  nose  crinkles,  taking  a  moment  to  fully  process  before  trying  again.    ＂    hi.    ＂    this  time,  lips  spread  into  a  relaxed  smile,  placing  case  file  back  down  on  reception  counter.  she  can  get  back  to  those  later.    ＂    if  you’re  looking  for  angel,  you’ve  just  missed  him.  he  took  wesley    &    gunn  to  go  deal  with  a  𝚠𝚎𝚗𝚍𝚒𝚐𝚘  𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚋𝚕𝚎𝚖  downtown.  they  said  they  wouldn’t  be  long,  but  i  wouldn’t  hold  ‘em  to  it.  that  thing  was  huge.    ＂    visions  are  clearer  these  days.  she  sees  𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴,  feels  everything.  even  smells  everything.    ＂    you’re  welcome  to  wait  though.  it’s  just  me  and  fred  here,  and  honestly,  you’d  probably  be  a  lot  more  company  than  the  gal  who  never  wants  to  leave  her  room.    ＂
