Me: oh, so are you an artist?

Girl: no

Me: are you going to be an artist when you grow up?

Girl: no. When I’m eleven.

A dad, to me, out of the blue: Were you doing dentistry?

Me: uh.. No?

Him: I saw you with a drill earlier and thought you were doing dentistry with the kids.

Me, who works in exhibits and uses a drill gun: no… I was just.. fixing some things.

Him: I have a tooth that needs fixing!

Me: I don’t know how to do that

Him: a drill is all you need. A drill and a bit. And maybe a hammer.

Me: …

The same dad, to his kids: It's your Columbian mustard trick! I taught you that. And pick pocketing.
