And this whole time i’d been picturing a longsword whenever I read broadsword.

That’s because this isn’t completey accurate, at all. According to a quick glance at Wikipedia broadsword is a sort of vague term that mean anything from a Scottish Broadsword/Baskethilt (image is actually one I took of a wallhanger I have)

To wide-bladed Dao (commonly called Chinese Broadswords)

In the terminology of a medieval broadsword, it just means anything with long and somewhat thin cutting and stabbing blade (though that’s nitpicking because the term has sort of slipped into common usage as medieval style longsword)

Side note: is that Kodachi don’t have a set size (generally 30-60cm is the norm) so it’s a bit misleading to have it next to the Katana to imply a standard size.

I also can’t seem to find any real Cutlasses that shape, this was the closest I could locate:

and stuff like the top two here seem to be closer to the common shape

That also looks more like a butter than any machete I’ve ever seen.

Gladius swords are also not long and thin like that, they tend to be pretty thick and some even sort have curved edges.

Oh man..... I just found this Tumblr and it is the best thing ever, kinda. It's sad but it's true. Our education system is horrible, especially in larger cities. Reading these posts are like reading my own kids homework, and That is so sad.

Just a week later and we've lost our beautiful girl Rowan. I have no words.... I wasn't ready for you to go. She just turned 15. I hope you're off with all the others and having crinkly fun and all the milk rings you'll ever want. You will be missed by every part of my being, there is a giant Rowan sized hole in my heart.

I lost my very good girl Gali on Friday afternoon. She was so sick and very tired. She had cancer and it spread extremely quickly. When they gave her the injection to have her be calm before the actual shot, because she was so I'll it nearly took her life on its own. She had tumors pressing on her lungs so the relaxer made it so her strong chest muscles couldn't press back against the sickness. The Dr then quickly gave her the last injection and immediately moved on. I buried her yesterday next to Drake. I wrapped her in her favorite hoodie of mine. It's the one I first met her in and she immediately put herself into the front pocket and wouldn't get out until she was ready. Even as she got older she would ask nicely (by digging on the pocket, without nails) to go under my hoodie and sleep against me. When I first met my wife in real life (we met online in a game called "There"), Gali picked me to be hers. Every time I was there she had to be near me, on me, eating the strings on my shorts, in my hoodie, etc. Before I moved in all the other kittens were given away but Gali was given to me as my soon to be wedding present. She has never been bad, she's never done anything wrong. Why would such a perfect animal be given such a horrible illness? She was so strong, her soul was so beautiful, she was and always will be the best. I hope she is happy and no longer in pain. I hope she's with all her relatives and all my past cats, especially her brother from another mother, Drake. I hope she knows just how much she was and is still loved. I hope she knows how much she'll be missed. I hope she knows how important she was and is important to me. I hope she has an unlimited amount of Cheez-its and pizza to eat (she loved them so much. We would break the Cheez-its into tiny pieces for her. Pizzas we would cut a small slice so she would have a part of everything, including the crust!) I love ya Gali, you'll be forever missed and forever in our hearts.

Personal Crap - Send us good vibes!

Oh hai! Sorry I haven't been very active of late. My wife has been very I'll and had an operation and then got a terrible infection and I almost lost her... She's still a little sick but she is much better now. Our son is also ill but not physically. He has gotten so much worse over the past few months... He's afraid of Christians, wants them dead.. Afraid of cops/government, wants them dead and wants them to kill him too.. He actually wants all cops and military to be without guns so the terrorists can kill us all and we can then go to heaven. Then the “bad guys“ will kill themselves and go to hell. Not sure where he gets these ideas, or the want to kill since he says he's a budist (sp?) and they don't believe in such things, but I'm trying to understand and hopefully help him. He is now heavily sedated in a hospital because he can't control himself. Send some good vibes our way please!
