And that honestly changed my life. Because I went from a failure, someone who hadn’t been talented enough at anything to excel, to someone who did things because I enjoyed them. I had been raised in such an achievement-oriented environment, so inundated with the myth of Talent, that I thought it was only worth doing things if you could “Win” at them.

followed you for some Hokum content then went your blog and saw all the Rik stuff, a fellow scumbag!!!! so embarassed i hadnt crossed paths before in the tumblr anarcho-comedyverse, (or if we had id forgotten all over again, for all i know we’re on the same discord) but anyway, LOVE your art so much, and love the stuff for rik and ade fest.

I've been a Rik Mayall fan for several years now. :D I'm a bit of a lurker on the Rik discord I am on, so it's possible we're in the same one and didn't know it. Thank you for loving my art. I do plan on creating more Hokum art. I don't know when, but it'll be soon.

Ohm, played by Adam Scott, from Hokum. This was originally only a short study and experimentation. I wanted to work on one layer, working up from a red background. I found myself enjoying the process, so it became a finished piece.

My piece for this year's Rik & Ade Fest.

Lord Flashheart, if he appeared in Series 3 of Blackadder. I made him an officer in the 10th Hussar Regiment. Mustaches were not popular in the Regency era, with Hussars and Dragoons as the exception. Hussars especially were known as dashing adventurers as well as womanizers, so it felt right to make Flashheart one. I know the uniform isn't exact. I used several references of Hussars and used what worked.

Unlike the others, this portrait does not feature someone stifling a laugh. I do plan a second one as well. I couldn't get this pose out of my head, so I had to paint it.
