hey no offense but tumblr dot hell needs to realize that just cause a trope explores dark concepts or negative feelings does not make it “problematic”. Like the way people on here separate everything positive=good and negative ideas=PROBLEMATIC AND BAD is not healthy. Fiction can be used to explore unhealthy and negative feelings. Its healthy to do that. Its healthy to use fiction to exercise dark thoughts. Its literally something encouraged by mental health professionals. So to say its all BAD because its dark and negative is actually whats unhealthy. 

sometimes its ok for fiction to explore dark ideas. that doesnt make the work or trope automatically bad just cause it explores something that could be or is bad.

Personally I like exploring morality when I write. Like “how can I make this hideously twisted logic a genuine motive for a villain character” and “how do I get the protagonist to have a good counterargument to the villain by not appearing hypocritical/being won over” or “how do I make it clear that this character is meant to be a firm self-serving neutral”.

Being able to put yourself in the mind of your characters doesn’t mean you endorse that character’s beliefs, it just means that you have talent as a writer by being able to look at things from different angles and make them into compelling storytelling.

I made myself a huge spoiler on twitter and I was like 20 chapters behind this scene 😂😂 ALTHOUGH, I really disliked the design of the scar, so I made one of my own. Conchi helped me because we were both mad at the design, it was just a beautiful scar in the face of that man and the eye…!!! The eye was intaaaact. I will always remember Zuko and his scar because he’s perfect and the design of him is wonderful and I love atla.
