We don't actually know what alt-mode she could have in TFP, seeing as she was planned to be mentioned and was later scrapped, so the possibilities are kinda endless when it comes to her. I chose a car s her vehicle mode for my AU to go with her G1 incarnation Awawawa, anyway, sure, I'll draw her1 Hope you don't mind it only being a headshot doodle, 'cause I'm not drawing a complicated design for her just yet, not when I already have something cooking up in the background hehe

Some doodle requests from my Discord of some peeps in the TFP artstyle! And perhaps this'll be future designs for my AU, who knows.

Whirl is primarily based on his Fall of Cybertron incarnation. (I also plan on giving him normal hands, just because I think it's funny). And also based slightly on Prime Shockwave, only 'cause he's the only reference point for Empurata-esque heads.

Cyclonus is based on his Fall of Cybertron, Animated and RID 2015 incarnations (the designs in that show can be cool, I admit).

Brainstorm is mostly G1 based with a bit of IDW elements, like his mouth piece.

Nautica is IDW, no surprise there. Very minimal changes on her.

And Rung is the same case, I just added an antenna in the right side for symmetry.

Anyway, I might do some more design doodles in the future. Despite the difficulties of getting the angle right and getting the right references, I'm having fun with these designs. So if any of y'all have any requests, hit me up!

Why the hell people don't pay attention to traditional art/fanarts anymore?

Awawawawa, thank you for the kind words! It's always nice to see someone enjoying the doodles I make once in a blue moon lol.

For your traditional art bit, though it is unfortunate that it's less popular compared to its digital counterpart, I see why it is so; digital art gives you access to tools that is normally blocked by lack of availability for traditional artists. Coloring with a pencil on a large canvas will take time, but on a phone or tablet, it's a matter of changing the brush size. Honestly, it all comes down to efficiency, time and aesthetic. Not that traditional artists lack those qualities, certainly not, but in a world where short form media is slowly taking over, I can see the lack of attention traditional art gets. Atleast, that's my opinion.

Getting back on topic, lemme tell you, finding the right references for these guys is one thing; coming up with something new with those ideas is another. Combined that with Aligned's very detailed oriented design elements, is practically a gurantee that my hand will be crying tears of agony by the end of it XD

But I had fun nonetheless, and right now I actually have some new designs for some of the characters in my AU. Once I got the whole group finished, I can't wait to post it lol

(Always glad to give people a reason to yap about their ideas. I’d love to hug or give Saber head pats but it’ll probably be like indulging a hamster to him. 😅)

Ey, Hot Rod! Been waiting for someone to mention him, seeing as how he's featured in several of my meme posts lol

Being a bit unhinged in combat is practically a requirement to be a Wrecker, I'm afraid. He's always been unpredictable, even back when he was still an Elite Guard. But it somehow worked well for him, if him getting assigned to the front lines right after graduating means anything. Some would say that his love for battle has gotten worse ever since he signed in with the Wreckers, getting himself in more danger than what is worth and generally becoming more reckless with his health and wellbeing. It's definitely not a healthy outlet for a child soldier with a thirst for vengeance, but it's war and they need all the help they can get.

Not all is bad news, though. Springer may have grown up as a Wrecker, and saw the bloodshed and violence his group can cause on the daily, but he's actually one of the more level-headed ones in terms of battle and leadership. So Hot Rod was quickly assigned to work with him to mellow him out, so to speak. Whenever Hot Rod gets antsy, Springer steers him to more... healthier methods of cooling off. It has its ups and downs, but they make it work.

(Ultra Magnus reasoned that this is also good for Springer's own wellbeing. It's not obvious to those outside the Wreckers, but ever since Impactor died, Springer's self confidence is practically shot to the ground. He was supposed to take over the Wreckers in the event of Impactor's passing, but Springer vehemently refused the position due to what happened. So for now, only leading a small group is a small step up in rebuilding his confidence, he thinks. Hopefully Springer understands that someday).

Sorry, got off topic. To answer your question, yeah he's definitely the type to cackle his brains out amidst battle, if only to let himself go loose on the enemy. It's made worse when combined with him using his Outlier abilities; the 'Cons see nothing but a blazing firewall coming their way, laughing like the living incarnation of the Unmaker himself. Hot Rod definitely takes advantage of this image he has plenty of times, to Springer's chagrin.

(Also, you totally can give Star Saber some good ol' head pats. Granted, he won't really feel much given you're the size of a marble compared to him and he has to lay down to even reach somewhat of an eye level with you, but he definitely won't say no to a pat on the head! He's on the quiet side, but he is a very affectionate person, so give him all the head pats you can give him!)

You’re Star Saber makes me laugh because in Victory he’s said to be the greatest swordsmech in the galaxy and then in here he’s so damn tall it makes me giggle thinking of someone trying to square up to him. How do you sword fight a mech that’s 3 or 4 times your size and weight? It’ll probably just feel like pencils to him lol.

But since he also adopted a child in that anime, does this Star Saber feel parental towards anyone?

Ohohoho, you have no idea how long I've waited for someone to mention the more obscure characters in my AU; Star Saber is my current favorite for... reasons >:3c hope you don't mind me rambling a bit about him (and by proxy the rest of the Circle of Light 'cause they're relevant to his in-universe lore by alot)

Shuttle's in my AU are on the bigger size, on average going about fifty or so feet tall. Take Jetfire, for example; if he were to stand side by side with, say, Optimus, the truck bot would reach about Jetfire's midriff or torso at best. The shortest recorded height for shuttles are about forty one feet, but they're still above in terms of average Cybertronian height.

Ergo, since in my AU I decided to make Star Saber a shuttleformer, he's gonna be a lot taller than most Cybertronians he'll meet. But I decided to go a bit further and make him just a little taller than most shuttles, nothing too out there. But none of it really matters to anyone, really, since all they will see of Saber is just this towering figure of metal with wings staring them down from the ether XD

So yeah, anyone who wishes to duel in a swordfight with him is basically fighting a giant metal pole with how their strikes bounce off of him XD. Of course it's not really like that literally, but it's a funny thought.

For the other aspect of your question.... well.....

I wouldn't say Star Saber feels parental to anyone in the cast; rather, I'd say he's the one who's getting parented. Lemme just put in a bit of my notes here...

One day, Dai Atlas and his chosen spacefaring crew were just vibing in deep space when they suddenly stumbled upon a stasis pod; a rather large one, just floating in the void. When they retrieved it and inspected the pod, they found there's a bot inside. They then opened the pod, and out came... ... a newly forged shuttleclass bot. In other words, a sparkling.

Yeah, for my AU I decided to make Star Saber a kid. Mostly to spite his IDW version 'cause like, what happened there?? I don't mind characters being vastly different from each incarnation, but the IDW version is just... so backwards compared to his Victory incarnation. It's like it's spitting on his heroic image with how... fanatic, the guy acts in the comics. So I decided to change that for my AU.

The Circle of Light is basically Saber's really big family; Dai Atlas is obviously his main Guardian, because 1) They're both flight frames, 2) Dai Atlas is the first person Star Saber saw when he exited the pod, and 3) Dai Atlas just has big Dad™ energy. Wing is his crazy older sister/aunt figure who probably lends him knives to play with because it "builds character". Flatline is his main caretaker outside of Dai Atlas because unlike a certain someone, he knows what's age appropriate for a sparkling. The Torchbearers are his babysitters and/or relatives that he hangs around with sometimes, with Rust Dust being his favorite Torchbearer member (it's cause he tells really bad puns that Star Saber just loves for some odd reason).

So yeah, my Star Saber is a young bot, probably forged during the war like Bumblebee or Smokescreen was. I still haven't worked why he was left in a stasis pod all alone, after all shuttleformers aren't common and they're hella useful in the war effort so both sides would want to keep track of them. But I'll figure something out. Plus, this new origin of his would work well for what I have in mind for him in the story, since I'ma take more inspiration and ideas from the Victory anime and put it here.

Including a rivalry with a certain dragon bot...? A blue, four-eyed dragon bot?

I know I tend to ask about the headmasters, so this time I want to ask about Nautica. Can you tell me more about my girlie?

Oh, hello! Truthfully, I don't mind getting questions about the Headmasters; it actually helped me develop them more, personality and lore wise, so any question is welcome. But asking about other characters is also welcome! Nautica, huh. I'ma say it right here that I haven't gotten into reading the IDW comics in full yet, I've only been getting their story through the wiki while browsing the characters in there. So my in-depth knowledge of the IDW-original characters is pretty surface level at best. But then again, this is an AU, so any differences is to be expected, soooo >:3c Like in the IDW Comics, Nautica is a native from the colony world of Caminus, sparked around the same time as Windblade, more or less. Since Caminus isn't as... let's say dystopian with its government in terms of alt-mode specification, she's free to pursue a career in engineering despite her aquatic alt-mode. Although Caminus itself is not without its problems; the heavy emphasis on artistic pursuits and traditions compared to scientific innovation puts the colony on the road of stagnation, so despite her being so talented with machinery, Nautica couldn't really get far in her career.

When the Great War reached Caminus, Nautica was one of the few Camiens who remained to fight alongside the Autobots, finding purpose as one of their engineers. She remained behind on Cybertron when the Exodus happened, but she then left herself after hearing news that Caminus is under heavy fire from the Decepticons. Unfortunately, by the time she reached her home world, it was all but tarnished, just like Cybertron.

Feeling lost, she wandered deep space for a while, trying to do good to whichever Autobot, or the rare Neutral, she encounters. Her ship was attacked by attackers, but she was eventually saved by an envoy from the Circle of Light, an Autobot-aligned Neutral faction. After hearing her story, their leader, Dai Atlas, decided to welcome her with open arms, to help her heal her scars from the millennia long conflict. Nautica wasn't the only Camien on board; there was the pretty infamous Combiner group the Torchbearers, and a medic in training by the name of Velocity, whom she formed a close bond with. She eventually even made it into a high ranking position herself in the CoL's High Command Structure, where she continues to put her engineering skills to use.

That's her backstory, basically. Since her major role in the comics is as a member of the Lost Light, I decided to incorporate that in my AU in someway. Here, the Circle of Light is not placed in a peaceful utopia on a distant planet (though they do have a base planet they settled into) but more like a spacefaring ship going around the galaxy doing good deeds (Dai Atlas is much more proactive in my AU).

In terms of personality, I guess that for the most part, she's still an upbeat and intelligent bot, but a bit more mellow. Caminus, unlike in IDW, was involved in the War one way or another, so there's a certain... darkness, I guess, in those who chose to participate in the conflict. One which Nautica is one of those people. I mean, can you blame her; Caminus is nothing but a floating rock, devoid of life, so the CoL's her only home now.

As for what role she'll serve in the story? Hm, probably as a side character at most, but I do have plans to have separate story branches focusing on certain groups besides the main one, so.... there's that lol.

I'll admit this here and now that I know more about the Autobots than I do the Decepticons, be it their history or their characters. I mean, I guess that's sorta the point, the Bots are the "good guys" and the Cons are the "bad guys", but the point still stands.

Merry Christmas! How would the bots participate in this holiday if they found out?

Hi, sorry for the late answer, there was alot going on IRL that I didn't really had the time to answer! Sorry again! Happy (late) holidays to you!

Hm, the question is vague in this one. If you're talking about the Autobots as a whole, well, I'm sure fanfic has many fics of the Bots finding out and celebrating Christmas already. Even with the differences in circumstances and the casts personalities in my AU, things would go probably the same way there as it is here, in this case.

But if you're talking about a specific group (and I have an idea as to who), it goes something like this:

Brainstorm, in classic Brainstorm fashion, wouldn't really get into the whole gift giving or celebration vibe the holiday's all about. Not to say he wouldn't enjoy it--getting presents from his friends is nice--but he's more concerned about something else; that something is the supposed science on how "Santa is able to deliver presents in a single night before the 25th". Of course he knows the story is just a fairytale for children, but he is quite curious in that aspect. And you'd know he'll attempt to recreate this scenario in real life, with the reasoning of "It'll be useful for the Autobot cause, believe me, Fort Max!", or something of the sort. He definitely didn't order supplies from a illegal source for this project, definitely not-

Chromedome would be more tame, fully giving into the holiday spirit, in her own way. She is even more lenient with Brainstorm's chaos than before, excusing that it's the holidays and to let the guy live a little for just one night. She would probably give the others gag gifts on the Christmas day, like giving Fort Max a decal that say World's Best Tank Grandpa or something. Other than that, she's probably the relatively normal one of the bunch when it comes to celebrating Christmas.

Highbrow wouldn't find the more common aspect of Christmas appealing, like the aforementioned gift giving tradition and all that stuff. The history behind the holiday is interesting enough, albeit a bit nonsensical (come on, he's a Bot of science, give him a break). He thinks this time could be used for more productive activities, instead of lounging around and getting drunk on... eggnog, whatever that is. But due to Brainstorm's taunting encouragement from Fort Max, he was pushed to try out another aspect of Christmas; cooking. Though Energon is rather... limited, in its form, seeing the variety of human cooking inspired him to try and find if Energon can have similar properties. Some... needs more work. Atleast he's enthusiastic and not working himself to the bone, right?

Hardhead is not the party type. Full one, he isn't one for parties and celebration, and he will not be one in the future. Of course, he appreciates the atmosphere and realizes that they need some down time from the War. But he's just... not that type of guy. He went through too much to really let his guard down, even with his companions at his side. But that doesn't mean the others won't try. And he appreciates their effort, nonetheless.

Now for Fortress Maximus, well, he tried to be the responsible one, as per usual. He tried to reign in Brainstorm's usual chaos, now more intensified because of the whole Santa thing, tried to reprimand Chromedome for goading Brainstorm's usual chaos, tried to ease off Highbrow's worries and get him to relax a little, and accompany Hardhead in his usual solemn brooding. It's his job and responsibility as the team's leader and friend. But...well. He doesn't know how, he suspected Brainstorm or his Minicon, but he somehow had a little too much to drink and... let's just say, his voice would get high score on the karaoke machine.

Cerebros, like Chromedome, fully embraced the holiday spirit in his own weird way. He decided to follow her example and gave everyone gag gifts and encouraged Brainstorm on his shenanigans because, in his words, "nothing makes Christmas more lively than seeing Brainstorm commit public disturbances. It's tradition". He grew fond of the Elf on the Shelf tradition some humans do, so he did his own thing with that. He'll go sit on high shelves and tables and just- stare at people. In full Christmas elf setup (being a Shifter has its perks). Some of his team would indulge him and move him around the base. Highbrow and Hardhead just rolls their optics at his mischievousness. They get the worst gifts as revenge.

So far I've managed to find fairly suitable earth based alt-modes for the characters in my Transformers Prime AU, with a little modifying in some of them.

But for the love of Shockwave's one polygon boobas, I can't find any suitable ones for bots that have aquatic alt-modes like Nautica or High Tide. Try as I might, I can't seem to find real life vehicles that at least resembles the pre-existing designs we have of their vehicle mode. I know they're both submarines, and there are plenty out there, but for the most part they're just like... long tubes with rotors at the end.

Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, I don't know. But man, if this keeps going on, I might have to bite the dust and have their design be based off of fictional submarine designs. It's not too far fetched, to be fair--Quickshadow in the RB cartoon had her alt-mode scanned from a fictional car in that universe. So technically, it is possible for Nautica and High Tide to just have custom made vehicles for them. But IDK, I just wanna be fair since others have real life vehicles.

Anyone got recommendations, I'm eager to hear it, cause I swear at this point, submarines and the like are becoming the bane of my existence 💀

Am I correct to assume that Cerebros has pranked others by transforming into Max’s head before? Because that sounds like something an agent of unicron would do, lying on the ground as your leader’s head to make everyone think that he’s been decapitated.

Imagine Fort Max waking up, hearing others sounding alarmed over him outside and poking his head out like, “yes?” Sees what’s happening and lets out the most tired sigh. It’s too early for this. “Vector grant me patience…”

Yup, and he won't stop anytime soon.

The Headmasters, due to working with the Minicon and has close proximity with him, are somewhat immune to this prank 'cause they've seen it before. But others outside of the team? They would assume the base was invaded and Fort Max's decapitated head was used as a warning.

No one truly knows why Cerebros only shifted into Fort Max's head and not anyone elses. Fort Max is not a small bot—far from it, he's big for a tank—and Cerebros, while slightly bigger than the average Minicon, would have to exert his energy to keeping a form larger than he is. In fact, Brainstorm once suggested he shifted into his head, and Cerebros only looked at him with what can be described as disbelief and indignity. Maybe it's the Host and Symbiote bond they have? Maybe it's a weird way of showing his devotion to Fort Max?

Who knows, Minicon's are weird as it is. Look at Wheelie, for example. That kid's got some screws loose.

Hearing about Fort Max’s “crime” made me think it was probably something minor like repeatedly insulting some higher caste bots. They were the ones who started it with comments about how odd, how wrong it felt for a tank to be in construction when he was more fit for destroying. He would try to ignore it at first but later starts bitterly replying and adding insults to it.

Next thing he knows a couple years later he’s thrown to the pits for multiple accounts of verbal harassment. Complete and total bs, I know I’d be pissed off from having my passion stripped away from me like that.

Ya got it in one.

Fort Max is not an angry guy at the start. He can handle the veiled insults, the mockery. It's not that he likes this job that he's bern assigned to. But he made some friends here, and he doesn't want anything bad happening to them because of him lashing out or something.

Of course, as patient as he tried to be, even he can't handle it anymore. He would start to retaliate in small ways, whispering under his breath. But slowly he would be more bold, especially if it involved one of his coworkers.

Of course, this is the Senate we're dealing with. Sooner or later, one of their lackeys noticed Fort Max's behaviour, and gave them a good enough excuse to "correct his standing in the system" by sending him down to the Pits. Keep in mind, he had never once hit them back; he only responded to their words in kind. But any kind of critisism or mockery to the Council is deemed punisheable. So down be goes, to the worst place a Cybertronian can be. Made into a spectacle, a show piece for higher ups to gawk and laugh at.

His anger only rises from then on. Then, the rest is history.

Question; I know the whole purpose of the Metal Breath is that so Cardbots can have a peaceful coexistence with other species in the universe. But does that have to mean being put in servitude of said species using that very same device?

Like, taken from the wiki itself: "The Metal Breaths are wristwatch-like devices that have the unique ability to seal Metal Cardbots into Metal Cards and later allow the user to command those they have sealed."

I know it's a kid series, so the major impact of stuff isn't really thought out besides the obvious, but like- I feel like this is an important thing to consider?

How do they feel that someday, a random person somewhere in space will inherit Deus Machina's Legacy and use it to seal you inside of the device, to be commanded on the users whim? Of course, I doubt Deus Machina would want her subjects to be commanded by bad people, so the Metal Breath would only work on those it --and the Star Guardian assigned to safeguard it--chose to be worthy; that's why only Jun and Peruru are able to use it, despite Theo, Anna, and maybe even Edo being good choices as well.

But even then, it still strips you of your freedom. While you won't be forced to steal or maim or kill, you're still under the command of another, to be summoned and stored back at random, undecided by you. Some may enjoy handing the reigns to someone, but some would want some autonomy on their decisions. Decisions that they can no longer do if it goes against the orders of the wielder.

Some have protested on this treatment in the show (Mega Trucker, Shadow X and Fleta Z being good examples), but after they're sealed they seem- amicable? Like, "oh looks like I got sealed in the end, whoops, might as well go along for the ride." Like, wow, what a mind changer the Metal Breath is.

Maybe this topic has been debated heavily before and I just haven't witnessed it. But- IDK, something to think about.

I know cybertronians aren’t young in the way we are so they don’t exactly have families, unless it’s different in this au, but I think Fort Max kinda gives off tired, single father energy with his four kids.

And Cerebros is just sitting on Max’s shoulder, watching the chaos unfold with his own tiny cup.

Oh I don't mind at all! It's always heartwarming to see someone interested in this little project of mine, so any company is welcome!

Technically speaking, in my AU Cybertronians don't really subsribe to the idea of a family as a whole in the way we do. Not in the traditional sense, anyway. They do feel familial love, don't get me wrong, but it's simply that... they don't have an official name for that type of dynamic.

But there is the Guardian and Sparkling/Youngling dynamic, which to human terms is comparible to a bond between a mentor and their mentee. In some cases, it's more akin to a child and parent bond if the love is strong enough.

I wouldn't say Fortress Maximus see the Headmasters as his children, per say; they're all adults, they don't need any coddling from him. But they are under his care, so the love is definitely there, and he would do anything for these mechs. Even though they (read: Brainstorm) do nothing but make his processor ache something fierce.

When he was assigned to lead a team of scientists, he expected to only give orders on what projects to work on, see if it doesn't break any ethical code, that sort of stuff. He didn't expect to actually bond with the team, to see them as family. But he finds that he doesn't really mind it. The whole reason he was even assigned to lead the Headmasters is because High Command essentially put him on force leave from the frontlines to work on his mental health. So, he would say his task was a success... in exchange of his sense of normalcy and common sense, because where does Brainstorm even find these definitely illegal materials??

So yeah, in a way, he is a tired single dad with four chaotic children. Well, four chaotic children and a single gremlin ascended from Unicron himself. Is the gremlin in question Brainstorm or Cerebros? It depends on the day.

Also, PFFTT- yeah their daily life is definitely trying to stop Brainstorm from committing various war crimes in the name of "research" and "science innovation", and Fortress Maximus turning a blind eye to their shenanigans to save his remaining sanity.

Chromedome, unlike the other two, would often indulge Brainstorm on his shenanigans 'cause she finds it hilarious. Despite that, at the very least, she still has some common sense to stop him if things are out of control. Even though she is curious to where it would lead.

Hold on- is Fort Max a former gladiator in your tfp au? If he is then that’s so cool, I’ve also thought about him being thrown to the pits because of his tank mode and find the idea of a former gladiator becoming an autobot instead of a decepticon interesting.

Yes, Fort Max was a former gladiator in my AU, although not by choice. He originally worked in construction, an oddity when taking account of his alt mode. Afterwards, he was thrown in the Pits because of "unnaceptable behaviour". What specifically, we don't know, but knowing the Senate, it's probably something that they view as "wrong" or challenging their status quo. It doesn't help that Fort Max's alt mode is a tank, which if you believe certain stereotypes about folks with war vehicle frames back in the day, it's bad news for Max all around.

He knew of the injustice people like him faced under the rule of the Senate, so despite his morals he very much wished for the Council and everyone responsible for his suffering to die. But the Decepticons, in his eyes, began going too far when they bombed Praxus, and especially when they bombed his home of Nova Cronum. So that's the main reason he joined the Autobots instead of the Decepticons. He felt the 'Cons—and Megatron personally—was beginning to get too caught up in their own sense of vengeance, that they forgot their original purpose.

So yeah, basically Fort Max saw Megatron being high on drugs and went, "I want none of that".

It could just be a design choice the animators make for simplicities sake, but the resemblance is too much to ignore, me thinks. I mean, the double shoulder pads, gold colour, the weird inward swirl on the chest plate (which reminds me of another thing someone here pointed out that it resembles a cicada, shout out to that person, you've awakened my third eye), it just catches my attention.

This armour was never shown to be worn by Wukong either in pre-Journey to the West or even during it. We do see him wearing it around that time period, though

So we can assume he got it when the Journey is over (evidenced by his lack of a circlet).

Because of this, I headcanon that after finishing his Journey, Wukong was gifted the armour as a reward by the Court. Maybe they were feeling extra generous and/or cautious, so they gave him some new clothes so he doesn't wreak havoc in heaven again lmao. Basically it's a peace offering for the guy lol
