Please return us to a world where Notp and squick are used for a ship you don’t like instead of just making up a load of bullshit about how immoral it is or w/e lol
a short selection of concepts and phrases that used to be commonplace in fandom and we’d really benefit from making that a thing again:
NOTP: the opposite of an OTP (One True Pairing). It is a ship a fan strongly dislikes. The word is a portmanteau of ‘no’ and ‘OTP’ and thus is not a contraction of any particular phrase.
Squick: anything that is a deep-seated, visceral turn-off. Squicks may be shared by many fans or be specific to one; one person’s kink may be another person’s squick.
YKINMKATO, or kink-tomato: Your Kink Is Not My Kink, And That’s Okay: used to indicate support for fannish diversity and to distinguish between disapproval or kink shaming and simply having different taste.
DLDR: Don’t Like, Don’t Read: a phrase used to warn against complaints about an aspect of fic or meta. A “live and let live” philosophy of fandom, which places the responsability for avoiding content one doesn’t want to see on the side of the fanwork consumer, rather that on the creator’s.
SALS: Ship And Let Ship: similar to the above specifically about shipping tastes.
YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary: a phrase used to acknowledge that any given individual’s personal opinion on the topic at hand may differ due to their own tastes, standards, values, experiences, etc.
As the OP points out, all of these crucially imply no moral judgment of what they’re designing.
(definitions lifted more or less wholesale from fanlore’s relevant pages)
The intention was for teen Reddie, but apparently I forget this was the thing and ended up with some weird inbetween age XD
Has someone already made that joke??
I wanted to try out that smear animation technique thingy, I hope you like it :,)
POV: It’s 2013, and You’re in the Hetalia Fandom
I’m having so many flashbacks.
I feel like copious amounts of Caramelldansen and Smooooch animations should be here
90′s Richie!
He would wear the most atrocious windbreaker he could find.
the one experience that unites all 90s and early 2000s kids is experiencing at least one work of fiction with a deceptively adorable illustration of cute animals on the cover who live in societies with an established political system, hierarchy of leadership and culture and are driven from their homes by human activity and/or engage in violent conflicts with other animals in similar communities that lead to many of the characters’ brutal deaths, which are described in graphic detail and which left you briefly emotionally traumatized by being confronted with the concept of your own fragile mortality before you were 10
the 4 horsemen
it has been brought to my attention that this was an ENTIRE GENRE of children’s fiction for some reason
You forgot An American Tail
Expectation: “Yay, cute talking animals going on fun adventures and learning about friendship!”
Reality: “These cute talking animals are going through a lot of traumatic shit. The world they live in is dangerous, the stakes are super high and these small critters deal with war, death, betrayal, and oppression. Have fun reading, kids!”
My childhood has been called out, and so far 3 of these suggestions have been Don Bluth alone.
For the doodle request, could you do some soft stozier? Maybe a doodle of them napping or doing a puzzle :)
@loser-babies
Richie is the most (un)helpful assistant possible but Stan lets him help because he knows that Richie's ADHD brain is actually trying really hard to do an activity that Stan enjoys~
IT Doodle requests!
Feel free to send me IT doodle requests or prompts! I rather enjoy drawing these chaotic arseholes~ Can’t guarantee I’ll be able to do every one that I get because life is an overbearing shadow on anything fun related, but I will try!
Trying something a little different~
It’s 2021 and I still can’t stop thinking how Richie and and Stan didn't get to know each other as adult best friends and that Eddie never got to properly grown up out of the shadow of his mother.
The Losers loved each so much other but in the end it was too late for them to all overcome their fears together to be happy and become the people that the wanted to be together. They were never able to have an complete annual Loser meet up.
Eddie never got to live his life and Stan didn’t know just how strong he was.
The way draw Bill like a tired gay dad around the losers, I love it. He’s constantly keeping them killing Richie each other. Very in character, much love
Oh my goodness Anon I'm so sorry for the mega late reply! D;
Bill Denbrough somehow manages to be both family dad and part of the constant chaos at the same time.
He does a decent job of keeping Eddie from causing Richie fatal bodily harm but I doubt even he would be able to stop Stan from going on the warpath. Although if Stan went for Richie then he probably really deserved it~
