vldseungyong:
vldareum:
it was strange to see how her personality and interests quickly took over the entire apartment. the iota dorms were more or less consistent no matter which room you walked into, and the recurring theme and atmosphere followed them from their own dorm to the other summit media sanctioned dorms. she thought having pale pink walls and a bedroom filled to the brim with plushies might feel a bit childish, but it wasn’t bothering anyone. having her own apartment made her feel less self conscious about attempting to try out a new hobby or even run through a song or dance in her own time while doing other chores.
at the very least, now none of her things occupied shelves too high for her to reach.
“i’ll move in with saeun unnie then.” she smiled brightly. many fans thought of her as saeun’s baby, the doted upon youngest of the group. areum didn’t think they were wrong. even after they moved out, areum felt infinitely more comfortable in saeun’s presence. “i’m not. anymore. i did at first but all their recipes felt very ridiculous and too good to be true. like microwaving herbs to get instant dried herbs. i’m not a scientist, but that didn’t feel particularly true.”
moving out of the dorms had been something long anticipated. for the first time, seungyong had felt like he had privacy in a place he could call his; at his father’s apartment, the environment had been too sterile, and never before and never again afterwards had he been able to lock the door to his room and be by himself for a longer amount of time. so he’d been relieved once he’d moved into his place, chose his own furniture and created a space he, for what was perhaps the first time in his life, felt truly safe in, and that belonged to him. being the only one using the bathroom and fridge had been a blessing, too, after so many years of sharing with six others.
“i’m sure saeun would love to have you.” there was a reason saeun had chosen to live on her own, but areum had a way of making anyone give in to her whims.
their server got back to them, and seungyong kept quiet as the array of dishes was placed before them, then started filling his plate. “that’d be so much more work anyway, making them yourself. and expensive, too. have you talked to hamin about cooking? he’s really gotten into it now, all of a sudden, so my freezer has been very well-stocked. although i don’t think he could top your cake.”
areum officially had one and a half older siblings (aera barely could count, if only because of how often aera liked to say ‘when i was your age’ and then describe her actions seven minutes ago), there were a number of her friends that she considered in the same group. seungyong and saeun were definitely the more responsible side of those she thought of as her older siblings. saeun had been kind to her, even before they were in a group together, and although she missed the comfort of having the older idol just down the hall, she knew saeun was always a constant support. it was more than what areum knew how to be thankful for.
she followed seungyong’s lead and began picking some food onto her plate. “right? i guess the novelty of having home-made things is worth it. like people who make their own books at home.” she ate a piece of food, chewing thoughtfully. after swallowing, she continued. “whenever he comes for dinner! i’ve been thinking of inviting him and aera over soon to try out some stuff. i think it could be fun.”
