My gift for @adverbialstarlight for the Tears of Neptune Exchange by @vldlanceprotectionsquad~

One of the prompts to chose from was mermaids and what better thing to work on during mermay, I really did enjoy drawing for it :)

I even came up with an AU while working on this piece:

Keith is half-human half-mermaid and lives most of the time on land where he, together with the BoM, rescues captured mermaids. One of those captured mermaids is Lance, who was taken at a really young age. He can’t remember much about his time before he was captured and therefor doesn’t know much about the life underwater. So after Lance is freed Keith spends a lot of time helping Lance figure things out, explaining how everything works and showing him all the fascinating things the underwater world has to offer (as pictured above). Many adventures follow, especially after Lance gains the ability to change his tail into legs (thanks to Queen Allura of the underwater kingdom) so both of them can continue Keiths previous work and rescue captured mermaids (one being Lance’s best friend Hunk, who was held captive together with him).

Only Keith, the one who’s rescued him and shared an intense after-mission-moment with, notices something is wrong and wants to help him… and accidentally plans a date to help Lance to overcome his fear.
