clownzy unafraid to get in each other’s space. personal space bubble does not exist with them. early-stage clownzy where clown is constantly intimidating branzy by getting much closer than social acceptable. later-stage clownzy where it shifted to the fact that branzy’s space is clown’s space too, and vice versa. branzy being unafraid to touch clown, or to stand too close to him. clown who usually maintains a very strict bubble of space between him and people unless he’s actively murdering them. branzy who just waltzes right into that bubble to the surprise and fear of clown’s team. branzy proceeding to not get murdered for it. branzy being the only person clown doesn’t get silently nervous about being too close to him, even though clown is scared of branzy, because he knows branzy loves him, and besides, if branzy were to kill him it would be from a distance. them always sitting in the same chair if no one’s watching, or the two closest chairs if there’s other people around. them always walking too close together if they’re going somewhere. them not being overtly affectionate in public, not holding hands or whatever sappy things these fools get up to when their alone, they’re just standing so close to each other. too close. and everyone’s confused but they don’t seem to think anything odd of it. of course they should occupy the same space. duh. im just looking at these two freaks and there's no way they stand a normal distance apart or observe personal space w/ each other.
these two are the most clingy motherfuckers on the planet and you cannot convince me otherwise. it starts with Clown standing in Branzy's space like the weird cat that he is, and then once Branzy realizes its safe for him to do the same and he won't get murdered for it, he starts doing it too. they don't even know who steps up to who half the time, they just blink and suddenly they're barely not touching or maybe they ARE even touching and they just don't even question it because yeah of COURSE they're supposed to be this close to each other, why would they stand apart?
besides, if branzy were to kill him it would be from a distance
Maybe thats why Clown started standing so close to Branzy. he knows Branzy can't fight him, he can only trap him, and how can Branzy trap Clown if Clown is standing so close to him? Surely he'd get caught in his own trap then, and Branzy has no reason to hate Clown so much that he'd be willing to sacrifice himself just to kill Clown. That would just be stupid.
So it's safe to stand close to Branzy, but then maybe he realizes through that proximity that he actually enjoys leaning even more into Branzy's space. he likes watching over Branzy's shoulder, likes watching him sketch out designs or carefully place redstone or whatever the hell else. the proximity gives Clown an excuse to talk to Branzy, to observe him closely and obviously, and its because of that that the two end up getting so close and so attached to each other.
(if you want, you could even say its like watching a character from a tv show/movie. Clown has a logical excuse to watch Branzy closely, to spend a lot of time with him, and I mean, when you spend so much time watching someone, you're bound to grow attached to them, so of course Clown finds himself protective of Branzy and not wanting him to get hurt. Maybe he gets surprised by that protectiveness the first time it happens, but can't bring himself to stay away from Branzy. it's too normal now, standing so close to him and watching him. Clown can't just turn off his favorite tv show, can he?)
meanwhile, Branzy starts off terrified out of his mind, fighting his nerves as he tries his best to do redstone work while this evil and intimidating assassin is standing RIGHT over his shoulder. its already hard enough to work when anyone is watching, let alone someone as terrifying as Clown. but at some point, maybe as the two start talking more, it stays scary but its also comforting.
Clown over his shoulder is a known threat, one he is completely aware of and can prepare himself for, even if he can't actually do anything about it. Branzy is learning how Clown works, he can deal with Clown, he knows roughly what to expect with him. Dealing with Clown is so much better than dealing with a constant unknown threat looming over his head, the idea that someone, at any point at any time, could suddenly charge at him from the darkness or drop in from above and just kill him at any time. Clown, by being so close to him, eliminates that unknown threat by being scarier or scary enough to keep away those that would normally just drop Branzy. Clown is a threat, but he keeps away the other threats, which means he keeps Branzy safe aside from maybe himself, which is strangely comforting and also absolutely thrilling.
So yeah, Clown becomes a pretty welcomed presence in Branzy's space, and once Branzy learns that Clown doesn't mind Branzy in his personal space either, he takes full advantage of that. Maybe for a sense of superiority or immunity, but also mainly for that comfort. The idea that nothing can touch him as long as Clown is so close to him.
