I can’t leave the house without seeing at least a half dozen post-2011 Beetles in any given day. The sales figures are hard to argue with though. I guess they aren’t so much popular as they are unique and easy to spot in a crowd.

June 22nd is the National World Day of Beetle here in Brazil or “Dia Nacional Internacional do Fusca”. If you have the chance to come for a visit you will notice there a planty of them around. Maybe because the production went for a long period of time. First stint was from 1959 til’ 1986. Than, in 1993, the former brazilian president Itamar Franco asked VW to re-build the Fusca, but it only lasted three years.
Page with the description of the origin of the World-Wide VW Beetle Day
“…The date 22 of June finally prevailed; due to the fact that back in this date in 1934 a contract that gave beginning to the development of the VW Beetle by Ferdinand Porsche was signed.”
Happy Beetle Day! 6/22/2017
I really dig this car.
14.44 gallons in a 14.5 gallon tank.
So, it’s not for a ‘13 VW Beetle, but it’s pretty darn close! I’ll come back to this when it’s time to install the dashcam in the Vochito.
