((Another sideblog by @theultimateshadow admin wooo. This is an AU version of Shadow I made.... The AU being him erasing himself from existence to save everyone else from an unknown entity. He has been stuck in a void suffering with painful glitching and invisible forces, and reality rewrote itself so he was no longer known by anyone. Now he is free from the void, but completely different to how he used to be... He still remembers everyone but the world moved on without him for months... But maybe he could be remembered if circumstances allowed it...))

He had all the information about himself and everyone alive as clear as day, but in order for things to not end up going crazy like a few days ago, he had to play it safe. To Sonic, he was a mystery. Someone who just showed up one day with no information or hints to his name. And Shadow wanted it to desperately stay that way. For everyone's sake.*

*Huh? An anomaly? Ohhh wait... Yeah, guess that made some sort of sense. He did lock himself in a void to be removed from reality as a sacrifice to save everyone else at the time. But he didn't expect to have Silver run into him so soon. If anyone knew about time and space manipulate it'd be him, and he was honestly scared that he'd call him out. But he didn't. He's the exact same as everyone else... Which calmed his anxiety a little.* "Ī'ᵯ ꞥꝋⱦ ⱥꞥ ⱥꞥꝋᵯⱥłɏ. Ⱥⱦ łēⱥꞩⱦ Ī đꝋꞥ'ⱦ ⱦħīꞥҟ ꞩꝋ..." (I'm not an anomaly. At least I don't think so...)

Silver's hands start glowing intensely as he takes on a fighting stance. "If you seek to mess up the timeline, I will take you out!"

He is feeling gracious, however, so he'll give this stranger a chance to explain himself and give Silver a reason not to fight him. They both have to be good, though.

*Right, that... ALSO made sense. But he wasn't the bad guy here. But to be fair to Silver who knew about this sort of thing he DID just show up out of literal nowhere. Maybe he could use the excuse that there was someone similar that he knew... Well, everyone mistook him and Sonic when he was first brought back. So... That could work. As for the second point he couldn't just say he emerged from a void... He could rely on the amnesia and lay it on THICK omitting all details but... Hopefully that wasn't obvious.*

If this is Silver's first time meeting this guy, why is he giving off the vibe he met him before..?

"And don't act dumb! You know me, don't you?! You have that look like you recognize me, so spill it, tell me the truth, or else I'll deal with you!"

Silver knew that name. No, no he didn't. Does he? He recognizes it, so it must be important, right? But how does he recognize it? Trying to pin the name made his head hurt.

But Shadow knew him.

'Removed from reality to protect everyone from an unknown threat.' Like he should believe something like that. If there was a threat and Shadow saved everyone, he'd remember it.

Silver has no reason to believe him, no reason to trust him, yet... something in him feels like he should believe Shadow's claims and trust him.

"I shouldn't believe you. Your claim sounds like BS. If there was something that threatened everyone, I'd remember it, but I can't shake the feeling that you're telling the truth..."

"How much do you know about me, and what do you mean by that, not expecting to run into me so soon?"

*Shadow sighed and just leant against the tree next to him. This was... Not how he expected things to go. But it was the truth and he'd stand by that.*

... Okay. The psychokinesis part may have been a bit obvious, but the details about him being specifically from 200 years into the future, liking apples and apple stuff, and being adept about time stuff? You'd have to know him to know personally to know those specific details.

Silver didn't seem as on edge as he was moments before, but he still held his guard up. "You know these things about me, but you didn't mention my name. Don't you know what my name is? What's my name, Shadow?"

*Man, how much proof did this guy need to believe he wasn't a threat?! Sheesh... Well, not like he could do anything else right now. If he suffered, it was his choice to share it all. Technically.* "Ꞩīłꝟēɍ." (Silver.)

*But as soon as he actually spoke his name, he felt a pain shoot up to his head, making him stumble and almost fall to the floor. Okay... Note to self, never speak anyone's names in this manner again. They weren't meant to know him after the rewrite so he wasn't meant to know them despite retaining all of his own memories. Noted.*

Hearing Shadow respond with Silver's name, Silver starts feeling like he is having a migraine. It felt like something was trying to push itself to the surface of his mind, but something else was doing everything in its power to keep it buried and blocked out.

His head really hurts. He gripped the sides of his head to try alleviating some pain. "What are you. Doing to me?!" Silver demanded an answer, assuming Shadow was trying to take control of his mind.

*His whole body hurt. His head felt like it was going to explode and his body even started showing signs of... Glitching. More proof that he technically wasn't meant to exist but was given a srcond retry after everything. Yep, REALLY shouldn't have done any exposing just yet. It was getting harder to breathe for him. His vision was blurring. Everything hurt. Everything.* "Ħꝋⱳ ȼⱥꞥ... Ī ƀē đꝋīꞥꞡ īⱦ... Ⱳħēꞥ īꞥ... ᛗꝋɍē ꝑⱥīꞥ...?!" (How can... I be doing it... When in... More pain...?!)

"You. You said. You were. Removed. From reality! Are you. Not. Supposed. To exist?!" Speaking was getting really hard as Silver felt like his head was about to explode.

As he violently shook around, a familiar yellow stone drops off him, then he falls to his knees.

Then, as suddenly as the pain started, it just. Stops.

Silver held himself up so he didn't collapse. "What did you... You... Who are you..?" He asked through panting.

This wasn't the case of short-term memory loss, he genuinely forgot who this was standing before him.

It was as if their interaction had never happened...

*He was still glitching out a little bit but the overall pain of it had subsided. Standing up again he looked over at Silver, actually concerned for him. In his old life he'd also be concerned for him, but not to the extent of actually walking over to check personally. He only did that with a select few people.*

"ꞤꝊⱲ đꝋ ɏꝋᵾ ƀēłīēꝟē ᵯɏ ꞩⱦꝋɍɏ? Ⱦħⱥⱦ ꝋꞥłɏ ħⱥꝑꝑēꞥēđ ƀēȼⱥᵾꞩē Ī ⱳⱥꞩꞥ'ⱦ ᵯēⱥꞥⱦ ⱦꝋ ꞩⱥɏ ɏꝋᵾɍ ꞥⱥᵯē. Ī'ᵯ ꞥꝋⱦ ᵯēⱥꞥⱦ ⱦꝋ ɍēꝟēⱥł ꞥⱥᵯēꞩ ƀēӻꝋɍē ⱦħēɏ'ꝟē ƀēēꞥ ꞩⱥīđ ⱦꝋ ᵯē..." (NOW do you believe my story? Silver just. Stares at him with half-lidded eyes. "What are you talking about..? Who did you say you were..? What did you do..?"

He was dizzy and out of it, but it was evident that Silver genuinely had no memory of their prior conversation. If he were to be faking it, he wouldn't be so convincing.

"What happened..? Why does my head hurt..?"

Silver has yet to notice he dropped something important.

*He... Actually didn't remember after that? Wow... Whatever brought him back down clearly didn't want him claiming he already knew everyone huh...? Well, time for retry part 3! Sort of... Hopefully nothing would go wrong with it this time.*

"Ī... Ī đīđꞥ'ⱦ đꝋ ⱥꞥɏⱦħīꞥꞡ, Ī ɉᵾꞩⱦ... Ꞩħꝋⱳēđ ᵾꝑ, ⱦꝋłđ ɏꝋᵾ ᵯɏ ƀⱥȼҟꞡɍꝋᵾꞥđ ⱥꞥđ ɏꝋᵾ ꞩᵾđđēꞥłɏ ꞡꝋⱦ ⱥ ɍēⱥłłɏ ƀⱥđ ħēⱥđⱥȼħē. Ⱥɍē ɏꝋᵾ ⱥłɍīꞡħⱦ?" (I... I didn't do anything, I just... Showed up, told you my background and you suddenly got a really bad headache. Are you alright?)

*He hated lying. But he was uuuuuusually pretty good at it when it counted so hopefully his redo was good enough. It was then that he noticed the object on the ground, instantly recognising it and picking it up to hand back over. Honestly, as much as he would love nothing more than to to keep a hold on it for stability and familiarity reasons, he couldn't bring himself to do it. Not like this. He wasn't a thief to his friends unless in good faith as a joke.*

"That... That happened..? Are you sure..? I... I don't remember that..."

Silver hunches over as he puts his head into his hands. "I don't know... My head still hurts, and... it feels... fuzzy... like static... I don't know... I don't... Ugh..."

As Shadow picked up the familiar gem, a Time Stone, it started to glow.

Slowly, he lifted his head up. "Seriously, what just-" Silver's eyes get drawn to the thing being offered by the other.

"Is that my-" His eyes widened almost instantly. It was he sobered up then and there as he quickly got back onto his feet. "Give me that!"

He shot him a glare as he snatched his still glowing Time Stone away. After taking it back, he froze as he started seeing... visions. Forgotten memories were flashing through his head.

To Shadow, it looked Silver was just standing there like a statue as he stared at him with wide eyes.

"Ɏꝋᵾ đɍꝋꝑꝑēđ īⱦ ꝋꞥ ⱦħē ӻłꝋꝋɍ, Ī ⱳⱥꞩ ɉᵾꞩⱦ ꞡīꝟīꞥꞡ īⱦ ƀⱥȼҟ. Ī'ᵯ ꞥꝋⱦ ꞡꝋīꞥꞡ ⱦꝋ ꞩⱦēⱥł īⱦ ꝋɍ ⱥꞥɏⱦħīꞥꞡ..." (You dropped it on the floor, I was just giving it back. I'm not going to steal it or anything...)

*That was the first and last time tried to do something nice to help someone. Seriously, he was acting like Shadow was a criminal or something... Well, maybe he was once but he's been over all that for years now! Plus that wasn't exactly his fault, his whole brain was rewritten and he was under the Doctor's influence. But as Shadow was just staring at the other, he wondered just how much he had messed things up already. But he also didn't want to just turn and leave and not solve anything.*

Silver didn't reply. He continued to stare silently at Shadow, unblinking. It was like he was frozen in time as the Time Stone made him remember.

Visions of an erased timeline flashed through his mind, a timeline where this hedgehog- no, Shadow, was once in, memories of Shadow he has no recollection of were resurfacing all at once.

Shadow... was his friend... Somebody he thought of as a brother...

He's not supposed to remember him, as Shadow is not supposed to exist...

After a minute of just staring, Silver drops the Time Stone as he falls onto his back, continuing the show that unblinking stare as his eyes are on the sky.

Then, finally, Silver blinks.

"I... I remember..."

*Oh boy. Was that meant to happen? Hard to really say. I mean, it seemed to have just been a natural instance from the Time Stone so that had to have just been a completely normal thing. Right? It wasn't like he FORCED him to remember or anything. In all honesty, that probably wouldn't have worked anyway. He didn't even WANT to be remembered so the fact that this happened just... Shocked him. Majorly.*

"... Ⱳħⱥⱦ? Ɏꝋᵾ đꝋ?" (... What? You do?)

Silver felt so many emotions at once, he wasn't sure what to feel. Anger? Bitter? Joy? What should he be feeling at this moment? He didn't know.

"I do..." He answered after a long pause, his tone oddly monotone. "Everything..."

Another pause. "Why Shadow... Why..?" Silver had many questions, but all he could think to ask was: Why?

"Why did you do it..? Was being forgotten... something you wanted..?"

But it was either me or all of you and I wasn't going to let that happen. It wasn't ideal but... Not like I had a choice once I did it.)

*Shadow folded his arms with his eyes closed as he mentally went over what he went through in the void space he was trapped in for months during the erasure process. It hurt. A LOT. He'd never forget the pain rippling through his head, the inky substances filling his lungs and dripping from his face... He swore he could still feel the ghosts of the stains on his face. But he wasn't going to say all of that in fear of scaring the other away.*

Silver was silent, eyes fixed on the sky as he thought about what to say next.

"What do you mean by "you didn't have a choice?"" He inquired in an accusatory tone, thinking Shadow was lying about that.

As soon as I gave myself up, I was stuck in a void space no one could reach and there was no way for me to get out either. So I just had to let the removal process happen.)

*It wasn't like it was a pleasant thing to mention... Not counting the agony he felt everyday for the whole duration, it was just... Dull and lonely, too. Which was fine for him because he was used to solitude. But he didn't think anyone else would have been able to handle that.*

*Good question. Even he didn't fully know the reason for that. He just... Woke up in the forest after the process was done. Maybe as a punishment to walk across a world that had nothing relating to him existing having taken place. To see how different things were or not... Definitely a possibility.*

After the removal was complete, whatever - or whoever - I sacrificed to brought me back down into the forest while I was unconscious. For what reason exactly, I don't know. Whether it was a sign of mercy to give me a redo of life or if it was just an in person examination of how things ended up... Hard to say.)
