A bag of chocolate is thrown in Chara's direction.
Accepted and stashed away.
Chara’s made their way to the core. They take what appears to be an envelope and drop it over the edge, watching as it falls down into the darkness...
It’s not like I want you to reblog this or anything, but all of us monsters here need some more followers, so… I guess reblog this if you really want to roleplay with a bunch of Undertale NPCs.
J-just, stay away from me, b-baka!
"C-Chara! Greetings. Do you have a moment...?"
Chara looks back, somewhat startled. They seem to hastily finish up doing something and then rush over, hands behind their back.
“Ah! Greetings, Specs!”
Their eyes are closed. They don’t seem to see Specs’ ‘changes’.
* Heehee… Do you happen to know what day it is today? B )
The young monster, changed to a human for a few days, excitedly shuffles her feet, still lacking balance. She finds his lack of notice to her change rather amusing…
* In case this holiday didn’t exist in your time, humanity has a day where they show each other affection in excess…
She fidgets, arms behind her, stifling a giggle.
* I thought I might partake, as we–WHOA!!!
Too excited from trying to show him, Specs falls forward due to her fidgeting and lack of balance. Whatever she was holding nearly falls, but she manages to keep a good grip on it. She finds herself once again, leaning over Chara, one hand on his shoulder, the other, still holding her cargo: a white SOUL-shaped box.
Chara puts a finger to their chin, thinking about the question.
“If I remember correctly, it is Valentine’s da-”
They are cut short by the sudden impact, throwing an arm around Specs to keep her from falling over. And it was then they finally got a good look at her. After a few confused blinks, Chara holds up a single thumb.
“You’re looking nice. Did you get a haircut?”
They’re clearly joking. Their eyes note the box, but they don’t remark right away.
“Are you alright?”
"C-Chara! Greetings. Do you have a moment...?"
Chara looks back, somewhat startled. They seem to hastily finish up doing something and then rush over, hands behind their back.
“Ah! Greetings, Specs!”
Their eyes are closed. They don’t seem to see Specs’ ‘changes’.

So... Do you think Frisk was aware of you?
I should hope so, seeing what they did and what they ended giving up.
Trial and Error (closed with voided-determination)
She jumps at the other’s contact, but she doesn’t fight it… Specs buries her face into Chara’s chest, sobbing bitterly, gripping his shirt as her fear, pain, and shock poured from her eyes…
There is no turning back now.
Specs chooses to accept Chara.
Trial and Error (closed with voided-determination)
Specs is trembling, though her head remains hanging low, maintaining the monotony in her voice…
* Good… That’s good, Chara.
* Just… Hang on to that one thing, alright, Chara?
Her voice wavers.
Keep reading
Chara is not ignorant, and they certainly notice. For once since meeting with Code, they feel an emotion.
Guilt. The sight of Specs crying sends a sharp sensation through Chara’s soul. They look down, the feeling clear as day from their expression. They seem to think for a moment before carefully approaching Specs and holding them in a light embrace, half expecting to be pushed away or anything of the sort.
...Hang on to that one thing? I can do that.
They manage to crack a small dorky smile. Looks like they’re taking that advice literally.
Trial and Error (closed with voided-determination)
Specs sat, dumbfounded at her companion’s story… She felt a chill run up her spine at the mention of the violence and the carnage of his past. None of it seems real… But would Chara lie about something like this?
* …
* …
* Chara…
Specs gets up and stands beside them. It didn’t make sense. None of it did. They’ve shown nothing but kindness towards them. Specs should be running away. Father was right to be afraid of them at first. So why… can’t she leave?
Specs takes a deep breath, and her voice turns almost monotone.
* …Chara, the difference between you and them is that you’re trying.
* You are trying to be different. You want to be kind. And you have made a real difference. A difference that no one can take away.
* The fact that you chose not to speak to me means that you know that things should be different.
She lowers her head, reaching out to grasp his hand.
* Even if you claim to not care…
* Clearly, some part of you does.
Chara hesitates for a moment before grasping Specs’ outstretched hand. For once, they wanted to cry. They wanted so desperately to be moved by this. Unfortunately, not a single tear threatened to fall.
Even if you claim to not care... clearly, some part of you does.
They think back to their recent experience with Code. What was it that snapped them out of that violent state? Well...
She was right there in front of them right now, wasn’t she?
I... you’re right. There is something I still care about deeply. It’s just... unfair I suppose...
Trial and Error (closed with voided-determination)
Specs, who was sitting and swinging her tail, freezes at Chara’s last comment…
* Chara…?
She looks up at Chara, tilting her head.
* What’s the matter?
They laugh. It’s a hollow, empty sound.
What isn’t the matter with me...
They turn away from specs, wrapping their tail tighter around them.
There are some things you should know about who I used to be... who I am.
They pause for a moment.
Once upon a time, there was a human child who was trapped in the void. The void was empty. It was cold and dark and they were all alone. And then they weren’t. One day, someone managed to take them away from the void for small amounts of time. This person was the same child, and yet different. She taught them many things, but the most important was how to fight. Oh, but it didn’t stop there. She taught them to fight unprovoked. To attack humans and monsters alike without the option of mercy. And they liked this game. For five hundred years they played this game together. Causing pain to others. Killing others. Their LV was very high. They enjoyed this game because it was what these children were supposed to enjoy.
But one day, she stopped visiting, and the human child met another in the void. This one was a monster, and he taught them different things. Things like science and mechanics. Affection. He cared for them like they were his own child for two hundred years.
Then he left, too. One hundred years spent with nothing and no one in the cold and dark. And then there was a spark. A chance to be free. So they took it, and it worked. And they decided then to try being someone different. Someone nonviolent and friendly. And they were happy. They fell in love.
And then she came again. She took all of that away. Every feeling, every amount of progress... gone. She left them an empty husk with nothing but revived evil desires. And that left the child bitter, or at least they wanted to be...
But in the end, none of their progress mattered. Because in the end...
I’m just a Chara, and I don’t get to change who I want to be. I’m forever destined to be the demon child who only cares about hurting people...

* Right, then! I shall start.
Specs clears their throat, straightens their back and puts their arms behind their back, as if preparing for a speech.
* Ahem! My name is Specter, nickname “Specs!” Aaron’s daughter, and enlightened scientist extraordinaire! I like reading, swimming, and spending time with my best friend, Chara! B )
She takes a minute and nods to herself, finding it a proper introduction.
* Alright, your turn! B3
Chara nods, a smile still on their face.
Very well. I am Chara. Former adopted son of King Asgore Dreemur and practitioner of void magic. And I... don’t want to keep secrets from you...
With an exhale, their happy facade fades, and they curl their tail around them. Their expression appears sad, but they don’t seem to show any other signs of feeling it. They just didn’t care enough to continue their act.
I’m not nearly as great as you may think I am.
Trial and Error (closed with voided-determination)
* “Greetings”…?
They raise an eyebrow at the unusual greeting, but continue regardless.
* So… I was hoping that we could take a moment to try to get to know each other better!
They take a seat next to Chara, a bright smile on their face. They seem especially excitable today.
* What do you think?
The idea of revealing information normally would have frightened Chara, but with their emotions abandoned, they felt no reason to decline. No point in holding anything back. Specs is going to hate you anyways...
Chara nods.
Alright. I have nothing to hide.

@voided-determination
* Chara!!
A cheerful voice echoes from behind. Unaware of the other’s situation, the happiness in the delivery almost pierces the ear. The source of the noise approaches, and Chara gets a tap on the shoulder.
* Hello?
Chara sat in Waterfall, staring emptily at one of the many glowing pools. They had been there for a while now, trying to muster up any sort of feeling they once had. It was no use. They close their eyes, wishing they could at least be upset at the lack of feeling. Then they feel a tap on their shoulder.
They turn to Specs with a small smile.
Oh, greetings, Specs. It’s good to see you.
No need to drag them into this. For now, just smile and act happy...
KOHAI! Where are you? Come play with me~ *Code searches for the fuzzy Chara whilst dragging some poor half beat to hell monster behind her. -BrokenTale
Chara freezes in their tracks at the sound of the voice. Was that…?
Oh. Oh no.
Memories of past actions dance at the edge of their mind as they turn to see Code with an expression that bordered on fear.
Code is laughing… or at least something like laughing. It’s all broken up and distorted. Parts of her skin have faded and cracked away revealing what looks like tv static underneath. A huge fissure divides her face diagonally in two, though it doesn’t seem painful or hindering. Another fissure can be seen creeping down her left hand. Her left eye has completely disappeared, now replaced by a hole. Ones and zeros flash endlessly across it as she watches the scene unfold. Poor Undyne can’t get up. At least Code seems content to leave her there. She float walks over to Kohai still giggling and pulls her hands from her face giving her a twisted grin. w̸̜͕̲̣̞̲̃̚E͔̪̬̟ͤͮ͒̍̅͌͟l͇̠̟̦̠̤ͧ͋̅̒̅c̤͖͍͍̞͔̯̓̀̆͗ͮ̅͡o̷̖̦̤͉̣ͯͪ͆ͤ̑M͔̲̞̪ͥ̂̏ͭȅ̱̥͕̦ͥͣ͋͂ͯ̌ ̶͓͌̿̊b̌̉ͦ́a̤̻̻̻̔̉͆̈̓c͖̯͙͊ͥk̳̗̙̼̔ͥ̽͂ͣͮ̚ͅ ͍̯̖͖̼̋͞Ḵ͔͉̤͇̼͉ͨ̏o̥̾ͫͭͮ̄ͭ̚ḣ̰̜̜̙ͬ̎̑̈́ͅa͑̋̇̈́̆̾ͣi̩̤̞̥̮̻̟͗ͣ̋̂ͯͯ̀.̇͑ ̴Î̙̟͈͔̦͖̭ ̳̜̫̋̐w͚̩͈̏̿ͩ͒̿̽͝A̛̰̩̦͋͗̈́s̳̦͙ͩ͑ͮ̌̅͞ ͉̘̗̼͂̓b̮̣͗ͅe̖̞̼̺̙ͪ͐ͥ̑̚g̗͔̳̳̣̰i̟̻̹̹n̷͖̮̩͔͔ͦ̎̓Nͮ͗̅̈́̒I̜̔̽́ͭͬ́ṋ̯̦̼͓̖̲̾̐́ͫ́ͤG͚̤̜ͥͬ̔́̑͆͡ ̰̝͔̹̲͊͐͗̈T̻́ͣ͒͛ͬͮ͠ő͏͉ ̲̠͍̬͎͋ͬ͆̀ͅt̄ͧͯ̒͑̃ͣ͝H̖̲̟ͮͪ̔͋I̢̘͚̰̻̣͈͐̓͌ͦ̚̚n̼͙̺Ḵ̲̙͚̮̩̅̂ͮ͛ͅ ̟͇̤͐̈́ͅi̧̹͇̜̱̒͋̆̂ͥ̃̈'̵d̹̠̪̉͂̌͘ ̗̙̣͔̗͈̂̑l̐̎̓ͫ͆̓O̢̓̏ͣ̊͆s̶̓t͓͈ͤ̅̎ ̛̭̻͕̙͍̅ͤ͋͂̑y̦͙̱͚̩O̺̎̍̔̉̈́ͩ͞U̻̣̩̠̥̞̒̋ͩ̒ͪͩͨ ̫̗̀ͅť͚̏ͥ̂͋̔́h̙̩̭͇̤͈̲͒ͯĘ̞͚̭ͫͤ̇r͌͡E̬͇̋̍̒͊.̙̤̭̌͑̍̿̔ ̴͍̗̖͓̱̺͐D͎̩͂͐͗̌͛O̱ͭ͌̈͐͋̌͌͘n͕'̶͔̳̟̞ț͖͓̬̪͉͛͆̈̐ͤ̉̎͟
