In GM Bay window the kids did a musical about rileys dream of prince charming. Little farkle interfered several times suggesting that he himself might be Rileys prince - Rileys reaction: pure anoyance.

Then there was the part when Riley sings about, how much she will love her hero.

“Like a brother?” maya asks. “No, the other.” Farkle shouts as he jumps into the scene again.

Now, what does that mean? There are only two possiblities: 1. He ment another “way of love”. Today we know two ways of love: platonic and romantic, as romantic love contains sexuals desire, platonic love lacks it and can be found in many relationships: between siblings, parents and children, friends, teachers and students etc. so, when little maya asked riley if she’s gonna love her prince like a brother, which would be a platonic love, farkle saying no the other, means she would love him in a romantic way.

2. Farkle was the voice of the writers here hinting that it’s not Lucas, who is like a brother to riley, bc they are just the same… it’s the other boy, who will be Rileys hero: meaning Farkle. Bc the writers never reffered to Farkle as Rileys brother, nor did Riley ever called him that, even after 7 years of friendship.

That’s it. But in my opinion the writers did a double-barreled line on purpose. They mean the other (romantic) way of love, personalized by farkle: the other boy in the room.

Whatever big holiday, everyone is at the Matthews, including family (Josh) and Riley’s friends (Maya, Lucas, Farkle).

Maya is playing a game with Auggie or something, like leap frog, and as she hops, she makes the sound effect: “Boing!!”

And both Lucas and Josh turn around and go, “Yes?” And then they just look at each other.

Lucas wasn’t going to lose an arts program because of budget cuts 

All the characters expressed their losses early in the episode (Maya and art, Zay and Ballet, Farkle and acting)

Lucas knew all of these but was most passionate about Maya losing her art classes (rather than his two best friends losing theirs)

Lucas was the most vocal about any of the cuts because he wants Maya to be happy.

Lucas: *is supposed to be unofficially with Riley*

Lucas: *gets fired up specifically on Maya's behalf, constantly pays more attention to Maya and finds excuses to touch her*

Farkle: *is supposed to be with Smackle*

Farkle: *is obsessed with Riley's happiness specifically and even flirts with her by busting out his old schtick*
