Stydia ‘tether’ moments

There’s more than the MRA/car scene. For example when in s6A Lydia kept seeing the people Stiles was speaking to - the nurse, the old woman, I think there were more. And when they sit back to back but in different dimensions. And when she opens the rift and he can hear her voice through space, Jane Eyre-style. 

And when the nogitsune was telling her how she knew Stiles was dying. And when she went to Eichen house when he was missing and that’s where he was in his mind and then when he actually went to Eichen house and saw that this is where he was.

The red string of fate scene!!!!

And the focus on my voice/first kiss scene, and the drowning scene, obviously. And when Stiles was the only one who could awake her from the coma in s5. And the ‘you’re something’ scenes, which is a classic but yeah. I just want stydia parallels. 

And all the remember scenes. First with ‘looks like you’re gonna ignore me’, ‘you probably don’t remember me’, Allison’s ‘remember’, Scott’s ‘he remembered’. The car/remember scene, the ‘I can’t remember’ scene. Holy shit, it feels like the writers were planning to have Stiles get erased just so Lydia could remember him since s1e1. 

The ‘if you die, I’ll literally go out of my freaking mind’ scene paralleled with the Sheriff telling Lydia she’s crazy and Lydia being as faithful as Ulysses’ wife Penelope and being all ‘Stiles is real, I know it’. Maybe also parallel it with Lydia being driven crazy by Peter and asking ‘Is this real?’ It just shows how much she’s progressed. 

Stiles’ “I love you” with Lydia’s “I loved him”.

Stiles going into Eichen house where he was almost tortured to save Lydia and Lydia going back to the night she was bitten by Peter in order to save Stiles from the nogitsune. 

All the times the directors showed how one reacted to the other’s possible death. Lydia saving Stiles from the fire, Stiles freezing when he sees Lydia on the ground in the station, Lydia saying ‘But you’re not [gonna make it]’, and all the times Stiles held Lydia’s hand when she was unconscious/dying. Lydia crying into an unconsnscious Stiles when Allison died. Lydia drawing a deep breath when she and Aiden saw that Stiles was alive, and Stiles tearing up from relief when Lydia drew breath in s5. 

Lydia being drawn to Stiles’ jeep because that’s where she lost him. Being drawn to his locker. She knew his real name (or at least the way he pronounced it when he was a kid). 

Can anyone think of any other, ‘tether’/parallel moments?

It would be on brand for Anne to try to throw rocks at Gilbert’s window one night to try and get him to go stargazing with her, but then she accidentally throws a heavy rock a little too hard and cracks or breaks the window

the jonas brothers paved the way for other boy bands. the jonas brothers got rid of the whole idea that choreographed dancing makes a boy band. they played REAL instruments. gave us hit after hit. when you look me in the eyes made every girl age 7-87 swoon. burnin up not only was a summer hit but also started the iconic niley/nelena love triangle. lovebug made every girl from age 7-87 swoon AGAIN. fly with me made us all nick stans for a month. they werent just musicians tho, they were ACTORS, PERFORMERS, and SONGWRITERS as well. gave us camp rock, camp rock 2, jonas, and jonas l.a. their 3D concer experience was a moment in time no one can recreate. nick doing a backhand spring during the instrumental break during Goodnight and Goodbye? bringing big rob out for his verse in burnin up? bringing out water guns and soaking the crowd? they knew how to put on a SHOW. not only did they write their own music from the START but also wrote on demi lovatos debut album. they were the biggest boy band of our generation and it is time for EVERYONE to recognize that.

TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE IS THE TEENAGE ROMANCE MOVIE WE NEED RIGHT NOW

!!!!!!!! SPOILER ALERT, OBVIOUSLY !!!!!!!!

this movie is fucking amazing I’m just gonna say that right off the bat. it deserves a million times the hype kissing both got

And yes I’m aware that it’s another one of those fake relationships to real romance teen movies BUT OH OH OH IS IT SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT

First of all THE DIVERSITY OF THIS CAST

Lana Condor is perfection and Y'all can’t argue with me on that

As a mixed (half white, half indo) person, I WAS SO FUCKING HAPPY BECAUSE REPRESENTATION IN THE MEDIA IS EVERYTHING

AND TO SEE THREE MIXED ASIAN CHARACTERS IN A MAJOR MOVIE IS EVERYTHING

And a quick shout out to my emo, EDM loving daughter Chris and my dear, dear gay son Lucas for being the most fucking relatable and hilarious characters in this entire movie

now that we’re past the exterior sheer brilliance let’s gets into the deeper characters and relationships

The first thing I noticed after watching this movie was how surprisingly healthy the relationships were for this type of movie

The relationship between Lara Jean and Josh I found especially striking

Because at the beginning of this movie everything was about Josh

He was her main crush who just so happened to be her ex-ish best friend and was also dating her sister (by the way the fact that she didn’t go after Josh because she didn’t want to hurt Margot is another amazing example to the relationships in this movie)

So Josh gets a letter and thing gets weird right. Because now she’s dodging him wherever she goes and now she’s also fake dating Peter to prove to Josh she doesn’t like him

But the thing that makes this different is that things aren’t weird after the main grit of the storyline. For once the characters actually, God forbid, talk it out and low and behold everything is pretty much fine. Sure their friendship is weird now but it’s not like their not friends anymore and that’s something that you don’t always see in these types of movies.

Numero dos THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LARA JEAN AND PETER IS ACTUALLY FUCKING ADORABLE

Sure both of them started fake dating for some pretty selfish reasons *cough* especially because Gen is a bitch *cough* but when they actually start talking everything is adorable

Because it’s not like how these romance movies are sometimes. there’s no ‘hey I just magically discovered that your pretty cute and now I’m in love with you’ business going on here. Lara Jean and Peter actually develop a deep emotional connection all whist fake-dating and being kind of obsessed with other love interests

Lara Jean and Peter can talk to each other like they can’t talk to a lot of other people. For once Lara Jean can talk to somebody out of her family about the loss of her mother and how much she misses her, and Peter can talk about his dad leaving him without being teased. Because Peter is the jock character, sure, but he has feelings. And Lara Jean doesn’t judge or stereotype him because of that title. She sees somebody who’s hurting just like she is.

A quick side thing after I mentioned Gen, there’s not a lot of character development there because all in all she’s a bitch but there’s one line when Lara Jean confronts her in the bathroom, something she said about not being as tough as she seemed, that actually made me feel sorry for her for a second. She’s a bitch but hey, maybe that’s just a coping mechanism (albeit a cruel and unhealthy one)

And last but not least, Lara Jean’s dad is fucking amazing

He’s coped with raising three girls and losing his wife so incredibly well

While other movies portray this weak, grieving single dad as a range of horribly negative things (which is, unfortunately, the truth in some cases) Lara Jean’s dad isn’t distant. He’s there for his children and he’s open with them and he does everything he can to make them happy and make their lives happy (even if that means giving his daughter a shit ton of condoms before she goes away with her boyfriend on a ski trip)

That’s pretty much it, I just wanted to share how incredible this movie is inside and out. If you have anything else to add please do so! I would love to hear what other people think about his amazing movie.
