We know that Afton Robotics and Circus Baby's Pizza World/Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental were both built by William himself (not exactly alone lol but still under his direction) and what I noticed is.. HandUnit
Nobody talks enough about how HandUnit this sarcastic, deadpan, borderline passive-aggressive voice in SL is, canonically, an Afton Robotics product. Which means by extension, it's a digital reflection of William Afton himself.
—“Angsty Teen” isn’t just some random option. It’s William pressing the metaphorical “funny little prank” button while sipping his coffee at 3 a.m., going: “Let’s see how they like this one.”
—“Eggs Benedict” isn’t a simple naming glitch. No. This is the soul of a middle-aged British man who is both a genius and a menace thinking: “Heh... wouldn’t it be funny if...”
—The bongo music. Oh, the casual, utterly senseless bongo loop. There is no corporate reason for it to exist No practical application (this mf may seems out of bored to make music ass choice. At least uh.. he care about his employees or whatever, he's just try to toy them stress tf out after deal with Funtimes). Except that William, in his narcissistic ass, egotistical little world, went “Yes. This. This is peak entertainment. Let the poor sap listen to bongos while crawling through the death vent. Perfect.” At some point... the blood, the horror, the screaming etc...it becomes background noise. So how does he entertain himself? By adding a stupid bongo loop to a death elevator. Because, why not?
It’s him. It’s all him. His fingerprints are smeared all over the AI’s bizarre, darkly comedic behavior. HandUnit is LITERALLY a faceless extension of the man himself: sarcastic, smug, dry-humored, a little bit cruel in the most British way imaginable.
The wildest thing is imagining him recording the voice lines or coding the personality parameters. Sitting there, muttering to himself in his low, lilting voice like:
"Default tone: charming but cold... Backup tone:... Angsty Teen. Heh. Oh, that’s delightful."
And it explains everything!! The way HandUnit gaslights you, dismisses your fears, tells you things are perfectly safe when they clearly are not, that’s William. That’s his entire modus operandi. A man who looks you in the eye, smiling gently while casually ushering you straight into a mechanical coffin.
Honestly... Afton loves putting the "fun" in "functional robotics". And the "mal" in "malfunction" you get it?
