I accidentally deleted by old blog last year and have had this blog since I did that ;0;.

I'm 16! And I'm spending time in Kalos for a little while while their redevelopment project is going on. I do Battling and Photography as my main hobby

I'm technically a student, but I'm studying online while here. I've spent a year at both Blueberry academy and Naranja/Uva academy in person, but I wanted to see a bit more of the world than a dome in Unova and a classroom in Paldea!

My best friends in the world are Nero, Lum and a boy who wishes to remain anonymous!!

My partner pokemon are:

Vesta the Kingambit, female, gifted to me by my Godmother and my Ace for proper academy battles, currently back home with my family

Bella the Mabostiff, female, in the custody of my Uncle currently while i'm out of region. She's my little puppy and I will probably post a lot about her

Mikecycle the Cyclizar, my bud from Paldea! My main ride, battle viable but too high level to use at my rank!

My battle team here in Kalos is:

Corydalis the Chikorita, a gift from my aunts to use as a starter pokemon for the Royale Silly The Panpour, An alpha pokemon I found here in Kalos. He's intimidating but he's pretty cool.

Mortimer the Golurk, a pokemon lent to me by my uncle to watch over me in-case shit goes down. I cant currently use him in battle for safety reasons but when I can, I absolutely will!

I don’t think people realize how common it is for Trainers to release wild-caught Pokémon that aren’t a good fit for them. I’ve seen some posts here and there of people shaming Trainers for it, treating them like the scum of the earth. Trainers releasing a Pokémon that doesn’t have battle potential is not the same as abandoning it in the middle of nowhere. The Pokémon is released back into its original habitat. Since the Pokémon was wild-caught to begin with and not raised by hand, it still knows how to survive and fend for itself. Its instincts are still intact. Most of the time the Pokemon is released not too long after it was caught, and therefore hasn’t bonded to its Trainer yet. These Pokémon have no problem readjusting to the wild again.

The truth is that this is just a normal part of being a Trainer. You can’t guarantee that a wild-caught Pokémon is going to be a good battler. Some of them don’t have the right temperament for it. Some don’t have a strong battle drive. Others are adverse to battling completely. I would argue it’s more cruel to try to use a Pokémon like that for battling and cause them significant stress than it is to release them back into the wild.

Why do some trainers act like rehoming a pokemon is a moral failing on you personally??? Literally sometimes you cant take care of a pokemon anymore and it hurts badly but you know its the best choice?? 5 out of 6 of my dad's original team had to be returned to the wild when he was a kid because he just couldn't continue to take care of em, and luckily they were all wild caughts so they actually knew how to live in the wild and he knew where their natural enviroments were. I don't start taking care of a pokemon at all if i dont know theres someone i could give it to either temporarily or forever if I suddenly can't take care of them anymore, and some of the older trainers I've been talking to at this Cafe act like that's WEIRD to plan for. You never know!!
