You shrieked as you were tossed into the maw of the beast you had considered a close friend for so long. You landed with an ‘oof’ on a moist, spongy surface, which you realized with a sickening dread was the giant’s tongue. The slick muscle immediately began to kneed at your tiny form, soaking you in the abundance of drool dripping from seemingly everywhere and taking in the your taste. You winced when the giant sighed with bliss.
“N-No! You’re not s-supposed to like this!” Maybe somewhere in the back of your mind, you’d hoped that you’d taste terrible and that would be enough to prevent this. Obviously not, judging by the continued poking and prodding. Your desperate thrashing did nothing to free you, neither did the kicking, threats, and eventual pleads. From the outside, you could feel your bottom half being pushed in further, your torso nearing the fleshy tunnel you knew was a one-way tunnel to your doom.
“P-please! I don’t wanna d-die!” You cried, your voice dripping with fear and desperation. The movement around you slowed. You swallowed a lump in your throat, salty tears leaking from your eyes, running down your cheek to mix with the saliva. “I-I trusted you…”You choked out, your voice thick with mixed emotion.
The movement completely stopped, the tongue below you stiffening as if the giant was hesitating. Hope began to rise in your heart again when another warm gust of air wooshed past you, this one ridden with guilt. Fingers curled around your calves, which were currently sticking out of the behemoth’s lips.
“Yeah yeah yeah! Just let me out, and everything can go back to normaaAAHHH-!” Instead of pulling you out, you were shoved in until nothing of you was left outside. Your top half was crammed into the tight confines of your “friend’s” throat, pinning your arms to your sides. Your frantic struggles were then immediately stifled as you were sucked downwards by a squelching gulp.
No…nonononononono. Wiggling only seemed to lodge you in deeper, kicking wasn’t enough to hurt them, and your hands and arms were now useless. That settled it; you were helpless.
With a quick succession of swallows, you were completely sealed off from the outside world, nothing more than a lump in the giant’s throat. Waves of rippling muscle pulled you down deeper still. It must have only been a few seconds, but the moments you spent on your way to your final destination felt like a hot, slimy, crushing forever.
At some point, you found that you couldn’t scream because the pressure around your head was intensifying, signaling the end of your journey. You struggled to catch your breath, the tightness stealing what little air there was, until suddenly the pressure was released on your torso and you could breath again. Musty air filled your deflated lungs, heavy and humid but still breathable. With a final swallow, the rest of you slid into the open space, shoving your back into a squishy, slime-coated surface and forcing you to curl up in order to fit. Somewhere in the back of your brain, in the one corner of your mind that wasn’t screaming bloody murder or weeping like a child, you likened the feeling to being squeezed out a toothpaste tube. Maybe the image of that in your head would’ve been funnier if you weren’t on the brink of death.
For a moment you sat in silence, unable to process what just happened.
There was a great woosh of air rushing out of the massive lungs overhead in a sigh, than another moment of silence. You could make out words coming from a booming voice all around you, but you didn’t really pay attention to what they were.
The gurgle of an organ below shook you out of your trance.
“-pletely fine! Wasn’t so bad, right? See, I’m a-“
“…well, no, that’s not what I was going for, but..”
“You monster! You ATE me you sick lunatic! I’m going to die and it’s all your fault! How could you?!! WHY would you??!!! I trusted you!!!” You shrieked, throat raw from all the screaming you’d been doing. A mix of rage, depression, hopelessness, and confusion bubbled up in your core and burst from your lips. If you were going to go, what was the point but holding back?
“You don’t have to stop trusting me. If I wanted to kill you, wouldn’t I have done it already?” Shortly after, the stomach walls on your side were pressed into you, more goopy substances soaking into your already soaked self. The giant was putting a hand on their stomach. To mock you one last time?
“Unless you want to make it slow and painful, you barbarian,” you hissed, pulling back your arm and elbowing the flesh that you assumed the giant was pressing down on from the outside. They sighed again, and you could almost envision them shaking their head.
“Are you turning into mush yet?”
“What does that have to do wi-“
“Any acids melting your face off?”
“Not even any tingling from the enzymes?”
“Then you’re perfectly fine. Not even a little dead! See? No harm done. If anything you just got a nice, cozy place to rest. Lucky you!” You were shocked into silence. It had been a while, and you hadn’t been reduced to human applesauce yet. Your racing heartbeat gradually began to slow as you realized that you were completely fine, if not a little wet.
When you didn’t respond, you could feel the stomach walls around you tense. “Hello? Oh gods, are you still alive? Did you have a heart attack or something? No no no nononopleasedon’tbedead please please plea-“
“I’m fine you idiot! Why didn’t you actually explain it to me before jamming me down your throat first?” You replied, rolling your eyes. You laid your hand on the closest area to you as proof you were still there, your hands sinking into the soft folds of the organ. It was oddly…nice. Like an extremely squishy, although quite soggy, warm pillow.
“Where’s the fun in that?” You could hear the smirk in the giant’s voice. You huffed, allowing yourself to untense a little. Sure, the giant may have gulped you down with little explanation, but you honestly couldn’t find it in you to be that mad now that you knew you weren’t going to be digested.
“Jerk,” you muttered, shaking your head. The giant chuckled, the sound shaking the space around you.
“Seriously though, are you okay?” They asked, voice softening. You let out a sigh of your own, deciding you would close your eyes even though there was no difference in the pitch blackness of the stomach.
“As good as you can be after being swallowed alive. Guess I’m just not used to it,” you admitted.
“Totally understandable. Don’t worry, it’s not so bad after the first time though.”
