Let me try. This is not me arguing back about this take btw. Fully agree with the ground take.
I agree that this gay men's feminisation is harmful. Absolutely. It is so ingrained in brains that it is THE ClichƩ and shows itself also in the classical question of "so which one of you is the woman *wink wink*" ugh. And it is usual that the one the mainstream identifies as the "pretty" one - which the long hair is not helping with to work against - is the one to take that role. Instantly. The one with the lip scar can't possibly be feminine. Fuck that, I agree.
But your take does not solve the issue in it's root. It sounds a bit like "Let the other one be the gay man feminisation for once!" Which... Uuuh. Is not your point, I believe. (A personal note from me to pick a clothing item to get this across is maybe not the best example? The Damsel in Distress is better to get this across because it is tied deeper into the characterisation than the appearance. Which is "uwu Problematic" as I would call it)
Why cant a feminine character - any be it female or male - not "pull the gun on someone else"? They should be able to. Leading us to the Damsel in Distress.
I understand the issue of "Damsel in Distress" who can't save themselves. Certain plots are tied to that though to make the plot work.
In the omegaverse it is ... Because the role of the Omega is the feminine one and we are moving mostly in the canon setting when writing them. Which is medieval. Where someone who could bear a child would NOT be a knight. Not with the gender roles that that would bring. I know there are some. Which. Uuuh. Fine with me. It's fun. I hand wave the logical plot hole of how that would be solved social wise with the rules. That it is mostly Aeron put in that role roots back to "he is the pretty one". Leading back to the Feminisation Issue.
Our Root Issue - in my opinion - is Sexism. And that can't be solved in one entry or one talk. It is an age old issue that hits gay men as well. As shown in this.

Why are you picking Davron as the pair to criticize? I mean. Yes. It is your grind right now. so it is probably the reason why it is in the forefront of your mind and so the "occasion". I understand that logically. Emotionally and as a way to get the conversation going to get things moving to change...not so much? But maybe that wasn't your intention. Personally to me it came across as "I don't dare to criticize this with the bigger more wider ships because of how I know people would rip me apart for this actually very healthy view point. Ignoring that smaller ships - especially in the fandom of Asoiaf and HotD are struggling in general already. When we are just vibing here. You did say you have trouble with in online spaces. Understandable. It is hard to get across the right tone :D I struggle on occasion myself. No worries. But maybe this helps to explain why some of us flinched back and hissed like a disturbed cat.
We want to keep our little Davron Space peaceful as it is now. So some of us might be a bit traumatized from the bigger fandom space that is a bloodbath already from what I hear, especially with the ships. Like wow.
