Understanding light has given me an infinitely unique perspective on life. Of course everybody has heard and understood that life is shades of grey, but to visually see it and understand what it means in a literal sense is different. I listened to a Stuff You Should Know episode today about space hurricanes, the similarities between earthly hurricanes and space hurricanes is remarkable. We are early and late in our infancy about our knowledge of the universe. This is learning that can be applied to all levels of our understanding of the universe. To not lose my place, just what I am thinking. Will we lose ourselves in personal beliefs before we understand that we are animals and extremely vulnerable to climate change? And for that fact, vulnerable to changes period? I fear that I am at the tail end of the peak of human civilization. While we are at the pinnacle of technological advancement in the moment, we may lose what we have worked so hard to gain. We have so much to offer, but we may succumb to our own devices.

Note to self

You think a deeper commitment will relieve your anxieties about separation. But the underlying problem is your insecurities.

Update

Things are going good! She’s great. Don’t wanna get too into it atm, cause I want to address something else: possession. Why do I feel so possessive? This is one of the things I was worried about, because I’ve seen this ruin relationships. One partner suffocates the other and they either lose their individual identity or thats the end of it.

For me, It usually happens after a few days of being apart. I completely understand these are unjustified feelings, but that still doesn’t change the fact that I feel them. And I’d rather not bring them up to her. I really don’t want to back her into a corner, maybe I just want her to listen and tell me it’s normal. I in no way want to lock her down. She will probably go farther than I ever will in life, and I want her to succeed more than anything. I want her to live out her full potential. Perhaps I’m just afraid she’ll out grow me on her way up. This is probably where those feelings stem from.
