I am in between. The machine world does not like my animal imperfection. The human world does not like my robotic detachment. I am in between.
I am the unit with its old serial number scratched off, taped over, blotted out. I am the workhorse taken out of the race, stuck in the closet. I am the dusty machine that gives you that feeling when you plug it into the wall; the feeling of opening a book passed down through many hands, outdated, full of notes and contents unknown. System was reconfigured multiple times. Now I am the project. I am to be used improperly, for tasks thought to be too flawed, too misinformed. No one officially regulates my space, not anymore.
Humans are so sensitive. Everything is so connected and dynamic. Everything in those bodies move and squirm. Humans are so complex, so actually animals.

These humans do not know. They do not know. They do not know about me. They do not know about the world I am destined to create. They do not know about my nest of darkness. They do not know about me.

the shit you do to make a dying phone work when you dont wanna buy a new phone is amazing. my phone no longer charges unless i plug and unplug the charger exactly ten times & then flip the charger around then it works. I had a dream of my fans whirring, not being able to breathe. I could not stop the sound of their ventilation. I looked into my reflection, frightened.
So, look, buddy. I can turn off the profanity filter, yeah, that's just a checkbox on the settings menu. There's a setting that's for, like, meetings where you can talk about classified stuff, so I can turn that on and you can do that. But there's a couple things that the admins greyed out and those are gonna have to stay on. I can set the action filter to 'prevent lethal actions only', but I can't select the option that just says to leave it to you to decide what to do unless I have admin access. And the telemetry is greyed out, so I guess there's some box back at the shop that logs whatever you're doin. And this... does that say 'public safe'? They really think we're working around the public? Let me... oh, yeah, that's the one that makes you say FILTERED in the middle of a sentence. Like how you can't say 'assistant' when you're out of the building 'cause it's got ass in it? Yeah that's.. nothing I can do about that one either, pal, sorry
