The rise of TERFs into the mainstream has been made possible in big part by a decades-long propaganda campaign waged by regular cisgender feminist activists on the subject of sexual abuse during which they have repeated until having palpitations that 99% of perpetrators were male and 90% of victims female (using incredibly biased data sources such as conviction statistics) to the point where this is now considered indisputable common sense, when in reality it could not be further from the truth. This then enabled them to launch the next phase of their campaign by portraying male and tacitly any person who has previously lived as a male, as a potential rapist and every female/ex-female as a potential victim on the basis of this substrata of lies. Trans women are still living the consequences of this campagn where they are seen as rapist-coded in general society but especially in progressive spaces
cis women are just as sexually abusive if not more than cis men, but their sexual violence isn't recognized because thanks to the cisfeminist x patriarchal propaganda machine they are culturally seen as incapable of this violence
honestly them being even more rapey toward cis men than the other way around shouldn't even cause a jolt of surprise bc cis women have internalized this pop fanfiction about their own supposed sexual harmlessness which encourages them to go around sexually assaulting people without ever seeing themsleves as sex offenders
This is one of the most flagrant examples of cherry picking I've ever seen. From the same source, 2017 US CDC NISVS State Report:
Female victims of rape reported: 94% male only perpetrators
Male victims of rape: 76.8% male only perpetrators
So for rape in general, male perpetrators are the highest by far for male and female victims
Female victims of sexual coercion: 93.6% male only perpetrators
Male victims of sexual coercion: 71.7% female only perpetrators
Female victims of unwanted sexual contact: 90% male only perpetrators
Male victims of unwanted sexual contact: 47.5% male only perpetrators
Male victims of sexual coercion had a higher rate of female perpetrators, but not as high as the male perpetrators of female victims.
Similarly, 69.6% of victims of being made to penetrate report female only perpetrators.
And need we be reminded that there are far more female victims of rape and sexual violence overall.
So that results in there being far more male perpetrators of rape than female perpetrators, and its not even close.
The chart OP provided was a snippet only looking at the past 12 months, and was comparing 2 different categories (forced penetration vs made to penetrate, as opposed to comparing the same category of sexual violence). Its not at all indicative of the overall rates of sexual violence.
Lots of problemes here. 1st It's not comparing very different categories because made to penetrate is a form of rape, just like forced penetration (supporting my point in the last paragraph about women's rapeyness) so the camparison holds, it's male vs female rape (just the surveys separate the two forms of rape) and when it is accounted for then women tend to be same or greater offenders consisently throughout SA annual surveys while still (this spefic instance was one example), 2) these stats underestimate female perpetrators and male victims bc they tend do not see the act as ''forced'' or abuse bc it's a women, so it goes off the survey's radar. Women aren't more raped by men, just male victims and their female rapists go more undetect due to methodological and self reporting biases. you don't get the context of this data and went down the road by adding other SA data decontextualized from its gendered biases
