What Stripping's Taught Me:
1. Confidence
Not that I was exactly self-conscious before I became a stripper, but within the past two years my confidence level has sky-rocketed. We’re talking balls to the wall “IDON'TGIVEAFUCK what you think of me because I know I’m the best thing that’s ever walked the earth” kind of confidence. Which I believe every woman NEEDS to have to succeed in this world. That confidence helped me throw away past abusive relationships and get what I want in every aspect of my life.
2. Being body positive
While many people think of a strip club as a place for fake tits and perfectly toned tummies- it’s not. I’ve worked with girls of every shape, size, and skin color. From implants and hair extensions to size 0 girls with faux hawks to plus sized girls doing pole tricks to girls who were over 7’ tall with their heels on- strippers come in every shape and size and they’re all beautiful. Without a doubt, working in a strip club has taught me more body acceptance than I’d ever known prior to dancing.
3. The power of the pussy
In a lot of ways it makes me sick that, no matter how intelligent or talented I am, the first thing any man is going to see me for is my cunt. Yet stripping has taught me to embrace that sexism and use it against the men objectifying me. Oh you wanna fuck me? Well let’s go do some dances and get to know each other. $1000 later he’s no closer to touching my junk, and I get that Alexander Wang skirt I wanted.
Because the only thing dumber than a man thinks you are is himself.
