Every now and then you also need to do a bit of gymnastics...

Bird banding is much more fun for the banders than for the birds lol
No better feeling in the world than when your pet comes to hang out with you 💙
Moved to tears by the size of the lass
*slaps back of pidge* this good bird can fit so much cooing in it
Put sound on the cooing is delightful and the SPAP sound of thumping this giant bird is incredible.
these 3 are fully feathered and so big that mom no longer lets them sit under her. but dad still does
Cute baby birds
Oh my goodness, the woodpecker 😆 (other two are Oriole and female Grosbeak)

Just some beautiful pigeons I saw in the Canary Islands 💙
front facing egrets making me lose control of everything
Did you know that peafowl are born with a full set of flight feathers? It only takes them 3-4 days to remove the sheaths and put a little length on them, and then they are capable of flight!
It's very obnoxious!
glad that came through in text
PERFECT BIRD
She continues to be perfect
For reference, it was 6 months between the first photo and the third photo. She was still a juvenile. She'll be a sub adult a year from now. She'll (hopefully, if nothing untoward happens) live 20+ years. She's not even done growing. Peafowl are big.
Anyway here's a middle photo.
Compared to her now in the same chair
But is she enjoying Dredge?
No we've moved on to Monster Hunter
(she's standing behind the laptop, preening over it and pecking at the screen as I play)
#the idea of a peafowl as a HOUSE PET is so wild to me #I hope you're having fun OP (via @sweetlyfez)
Oh she's definitely not a house pet, despite these photos being indoors. This is where she lives with her friends, Earl, Stella, and Heather:
And she'll sit on me outside as well. She just likes to visit inside now, since she was hand raised, which was only possible because I knew for 100% from the second she hatched that she was a hen. If she'd been a boy I would never have hand raised her because hand raised peacocks turn ultra-aggressive at maturity and have hurt a good number of people. I breed and raise them and have for well over a decade, nearly two, so I know what I was doing :)
I have never related to an animal more in my fucking life.

Those are clearly complimentary and thus this isn’t theft. A social faux pas perhaps but that’s all.
