One of my favorite NPCs is the Cloistered Diatomist, I've analyzed him here and this is also another post with my particular take on him. He is very special to me :)
I love talking about my OCs (and am VERY open to questions), of which I currently have four:
Ariel Christy (he/him, 32) is the Vulpine Gentleman in question. His ambition is Light Fingers, which he has completed, and he hopes his child is doing alright far above him. He enjoys zailing, writing poems, and being with loved ones. He runs an orphanage out of his own home, having grown up in an orphanage himself. As a child on the surface he lived in a Catholic orphanage, left there as a newborn, though he was never really looked after with much care. No one minded when he disappeared for weeks at a time, running with urchin gangs. As an adult, following a stint in prison for being caught with another man, he decided to go to the Neath. It was his best decision, he says. He met lovers and friends and found fulfillment he never had on the surface. He is married to Poor Edward (they're making it work) and lives with the Revolutionary Firebrand and the Cloistered Diatomist as lovers. After an accident at zee involving an explosion, he uses a cane for balance and auricles to help his hearing. He is currently managing a railway board.
Laila Keller (she/her, 20), whose title I haven't come up with yet, is my Seeking alt. She doesn't know what's coming, but she knows her hunger for knowledge will ruin her. She cannot be saved. But that's just her opinion. She is also my Bag a Legend alt. She has abnormal relationships to the Captivating Princess and the Comtessa who she smashed to pieces. She is dating the Barbed Wit and is a member of the Candlefinder Society.
Dr. Mantis Minsk (they/them) was my second Sunless Sea captain. They were only 22 in 1889, and were on the ship for an academic study when their captain ran away to the surface. They took over as captain, woefully unprepared, and ran out of fuel twice, being sent to Kingeater's Castle both times. Part of their crew revolted and shot them, throwing their body into the ocean. Alive again in London and living with their parents, they pursued a medical degree, ignoring what had just happened to them. They also realized they were pregnant, they were the Tireless Mechanic's lover on the ship. Now they are 36 in 1899 (1903), their daughter Carrie is 15, and they run a doctor's office out of their home. They're pursuing Heart's Desire after years of being stagnant and ordinary. Recently they travelled to Polythreme. They’ve grown bolder since then. They are also expecting, and due in late April. The father is Madeline, a rubbery.
Esker Retch | The Adolescent Rage (he/him) is a 13 year old from America. His brother, who was his guardian, is dead, he's been dead for 3 years now. Esker has been on his own ever since then, searching for his brother's killer. He has a one track mind, his revenge quest is all he cares for, and it causes him to be ruthless for his own gain. He lives with his spindlewolf named Dagger and his marsh wolf named Hugh, though sometimes he drops in on Ariel's orphanage. He died once, poisoned by a spider council. He is still coming to terms with the fact that he will never see the sun again

Eustace Minsk: My MoTR player and Mantis’ mother. She used the fall as her opportunity to become her true self, she also fell in love with Ferret, who is Mantis’ other parent. They have a unique relationship, Eustace is Ferret’s wife, but Ferret is not her spouse. She is also close to Ivy.
Carrie Minsk: Mantis’ teenage daughter. She loves fantasy novels and worldbuilding, and spends a lot of her time writing (mostly about fictional worlds she came up with). Her father is the Tireless Mechanic, who she takes after. The family are unaware of his whereabouts
Madeline: ADD STUFF LATER <3
Edmund Retch: Esker’s older brother who died at 25. He was Esker’s guardian for several years after their parents passed. He is Esker’s reason for coming to the Neath.
