It…wasn’t Aku? No, just another creature with shapeshifting powers. Actually, it resembled the kitsune Yokai Jack had heard stories of as a kid. Regardless, it didn’t seem interested in harming him, so he reluctantly lowered his sword.

“I do not find scaring people like that to be funny.” Jack responded, his tone cold. He would have found this creature fascinating, and a small part of him did, but he didn’t take kindly to anyone messing with him - especially not with a subject as serious as Aku. He sheathed his sword, but kept an eye on the fox in case it decided to try anything stupid.

“If you have an appointment to get to, maybe you should not be wasting time causing trouble.”

He gave a canine grin as the fox floated around the man as if swimming through the air, till he stopped in a position that may seem like a french girl pose. “ It’s funny to me. Besides, not like I can help my nature. I may be the only one, but I still remember that foxes like me make all sorts of tricks. Makes me think of that norse god, Loki, or something. “

Yamanu does compare sometimes, his kind, himself, to gods who’s talent was pranks and tricks. While the dual coated vulpine is also a creation of Aku, he’s still very much a kitsune.

“ Would it please you if that appointment just so happens to be you? I don’t know, something something about one of several things; pranking you, taking your sword, killing you, or just capture. That’s what the note said. Doesn’t get any specific that if I can do something else because only one of those things appeals to me. “ he shifted post to lay on his back while still in the air, nine tails swaying and a few beginning to curl about the samurai. Those tails were soft, like the rest of Yamanu’s fur. “ Quite a conundrum. “

It’s a good thing for the kitsune that Jack didn’t have his sword in his hand at that exact moment. He’d set it down, and stepped away from it for only a minute when what appeared to be Aku came out of nowhere and screamed in his ear.

Jack let out a startled scream of his own, practically leaping away from the demon and grabbing his sword.

“Stay back!”

Yamanu only laughed, as if it was hilarious! and it was. He returned to his original form, a multi-tailed fox with a black and white fur coat. 

“ You really should look at yourself! Comedy gold. Who wouldn’t get scared at sudden screaming aku in their ears? “

Someone without fear, probably. The fox stretched a bit on the ground on all paws and laid out as his chin rested on a propped up paw.

“ If you’re going to stab me, make it quick because I got this appointment today and I’d really like to not miss that. “

The kitsune decides to prank the poor samurai by taking the form of Aku, with those beads still visible, and screaming right into his ear. He was going for the nightmare fuel effect because this fox doesn’t know when to stop being an asshole.

Probably should have expected she doesn’t catch that he’s flirting. He can smell some kind of familiar scent on her that he can’t place. Maybe she had ties with the samurai, or someone the fox was more familiar with. It’s questionable.
