( Apparently I need to make it clear as day that I am memoriakissed. People I moved blogs, but I didn't want to advertise the new one on my old blog BECAUSE I wanted to have a FRESH START. )
Warning: The following contains religious content-mainly regarding other deities, and by technicality, mentions of death and war as well as vore ( Kayle, specifically. I do not go into detail about it--and never will--but it is mentioned as it is lore for this world in particular. ). Eclipse, the universe itself, is rather dark and, at this time, has no happy ending. This is a fictional setting-but none the less, if you are sensitive to these kinds of topics, viewer discretion has been advised.
Coven
In regards to the eclipse lore, we know that Kayle originally was apart of the coven, and in an act of love ( and betrayal ), ate the original sun god, and due to being unable to control the power obtained nor the light from it, went crazed and it in turn was spread to others--which then caused them to slay the other old gods. Perhaps with the exception of Nilah's, as hers is sealed in her weapon ( I will have to relook at timeline, as nothing is really given dates and such. I think her god was sealed after but again. I will double check. ) and she later joined the knights to fight against them.
We also know that the Eclipse lore has fae ( Which of course are different from fae court. ), dryads, and sylvans, all of which have a home deep in the woods--some of which are protectors. We also know that the coven invaded the forest--seeking means to which revive their old gods.
As we know, elderwood Ahri and LeBlanc both had mimicked the witches looks. LeBlanc died in the process of them raiding the forest ( and was later resurrected-per prestige coven lore ), and it seems Ahri hadn't survived either....
at least, so they thought.
She was weakened, greatly. But not dead. Not by a long shot. She shape shifts herself away from the chaos, going into hiding deep in the woods, drawing essence from the flora and fauna around her. Days later, a few mortals dared to wander too deep; one by one, each heard her call like a sailor lost to the sweet melody of a siren. She would draw them near in various ways--creating an illusion in their minds, soothing their souls as she drains them of their life force and buried them into the drained earth. She would turn them against one another--each one vying for her attention. Each one promised one thing or another with her--until their chest stopped rising in the dead of the night.
Another group ventured into the woods-and she also took their essence. With this group, however, she noticed one carried a journal, and had documented their encounters with her. He was an artist--who asked if he could paint her, just once, before his death.
And so, she let him. She unveiled herself-all nine dark tails sprayed out. She let him finish the painting-let him document his views, finding them enticingly sweet, before they vanished into the forest together-leaving his belongings.
More groups were hearing of this beautiful painting and a fox woman that was so beautiful, all creatures were attracted to her. It drew in more and more mortals--more souls for her to consume.
Eventually, she returned to full strength--and any extra mortals were then fed to her old god, hoping to reawaken it.
Elderwood
Ahri in elderwood, while not the one to defeat LeBlanc and her invasion, was present when the witches striked their home. Hidden underneath a broken stump, she watched as her kin fought the witches. Many had died--all but her and one other, who succeeded in stopping the invasion and took their spells, their beauty, and their lives--the exception of Ahri, of course.
This particular one had saw the vulpine, and much like her kin--mimicked her looks, transforming into a beautiful, nine tailed vulpine with beautiful, long pink hair and horn decoratives. With the witch's powerful magic, she began to practice it, in preparation of another invasion.
And she was right to do so.
For now, it was not only witches that invaded the woods--humans were, too.
Notes about Elderwood Ahri
Yes, she can also drain the essence of others. But she can also give essence to nature and the like. She has accidentally drained the life of a deer once--and was terrified of her ability to do so. Unlike base Ahri where she had a period of uncontrollable hunger for human essence, Elderwood Ahri refused and could feed her magic in other ways, as she is still a sylvan. So she has an easier time controlling her 'hunger'.
That said, while she and LeBlanc has mimicked the witches, they are not as powerful as the originals. Far from it--especially with LeBlanc's revival.
( had a player try to harass me in champ select today by hovering Ahri and going 'do you have the skin Ahri? I won't have it in my game. It's about sending a message'. And I'm just like... Okay. Just because you don't agree with what decision was done you don't have to be an asshole to people who want to play her. And if people made the decision to buy the biggest bundle, that's their money. I don't agree with what Riot did, but if people want to spend $500 that's their decision.
I myself will be trying to get the base bundle, because I think the base bundle is worth the price tag for all it comes with and I really like the base skin. So. Whatever. I know it's going to annoy me, I've gotten enough harassment over the ten years I've played League to be used to people being stupid in it, but it doesn't change the fact it still fucking irks me.
Oh and as a follow up on that player? Went on to flame in game and call everyone subhuman and just bitched the whole time. A truly terrible person. )
