It was clear in the books that Elain is very much not content with just “being a decoration”. She obviously resents the fact that she was always viewed this way— by her family, by their social circle, by suitors. This is the role that she was forced to play, and now that she is free from those expectations there is nothing she wants less than to go back to being reduced to just “pleasant to look at”.

Their complete, willful mischaracterization of Elain Archeron says everything about how little they understand. Which is why none of their “theories”, “interpretations”, or “analyses” hold any merit or warrant consideration.
